Feeling overwhelmed by supplements? You’re not alone.

With so many options out there, it’s tempting to rely on quick Google searches or even AI for answers. But the truth is, supplements aren’t one-size-fits-all and what an algorithm suggests isn’t always what your body needs for your health goals and at your specific stage of life.

As a nutritional therapist, I see just how individual this can be. The right support, dosage, and combination really do matter and that’s where personalised advice makes all the difference.

If you’re unsure where to start, it’s always worth getting guidance from someone who understands the bigger picture, so you can feel confident in what you’re taking.

Because your health deserves more than guesswork.

Such a brilliant reminder from Lara about the complexities of metabolism 💪

Such a brilliant reminder from Lara about the complexities of metabolism 💪

Insulin resistance is a hormonal condition that affects nearly 1 in 2 adults.

Importantly, as with other hormonal conditions, it is not your fault.

Instead, it’s the result of cumulative, multi-generational impacts from environmental toxins, medications, microbiome disruption, circadian misalignment, and ultraprocessed foods.

There is a way back to better insulin sensitivity, and it starts with shaking off any feelings of blame or shame.

Reminder: Metabolism is governed by complex regulatory systems. Before the 1970s, when those systems were still functioning normally, most people just lived their lives without having to micromanage food or exercise.

Your body's got this!

Are you worried about your bone health?

If you’ve been diagnosed with osteopenia or osteoporosis, you’ve probably been told what’s happening… but not why…or what to do about it.

That’s where personalised nutrition can make a real difference.

I work 1:1 with clients to:

✨ Identify and address key nutrient deficiencies

✨ Support gut health (so your body can actually absorb the nutrients it needs)
✨ Create realistic, tailored nutrition & lifestyle plans
✨ Reduce fracture risk & support long-term bone strength

Improving bone health isn’t about generic advice… it’s about understanding your body.

“Your bloods are fine”….but you still don’t feel right. Sound familiar?

This is where blood tests can sometimes be misunderstood 👇

Ferritin is often used as the go-to marker for iron status. BUT it’s not always that simple.

Ferritin is an ‘acute phase reactant’, meaning it can increase in response to inflammation, infection, or physiological stress.

So a “normal” or even elevated ferritin doesn’t always reflect how much iron is actually available for use.

This is one reason why some people with a ‘normal’ ferritin may experience:

• Fatigue
• Hair shedding
• Brain fog
• Dizziness
• Shortness of breath

…despite being told their results are “fine”.

These symptoms do not automatically mean you are iron deficient….but it does mean the picture may be incomplete.

Ferritin should always be interpreted in context.

Symptoms matter most and these other markers are helpful alongside ferritin to give a more accurate picture:

• Transferrin saturation
• Serum iron
• CRP
• Full blood count

If your symptoms don’t match your bloods, it is always worth looking deeper.

Save this post. Share with anyone who may need it and DM Iron if you need support.

Sunday food prep in the Love Nutrition house 🏠

We’ve got a busy week ahead, so spending a little time preparing a few basics means we’ve got plenty of quick, nourishing options ready for lunches.

Nothing complicated, just simple foods that can be added to throughout the week.

This week we’ve made:
🥗 Chickpea & veg salad
🌿 Lentil & herb salad
🥬 Pickled red cabbage
🥗 Caesar salad
🥚 Boiled eggs

Lots of fibre, protein, colour and flavour ready to build balanced lunches in minutes.

Food prep doesn’t have to mean cooking full meals. Even preparing a few key ingredients can make eating well during a busy week feel much easier.

If you’d like inspiration and ideas then do reach out and book a free discovery call to discuss how I can help.
