Bristol is helping shape the future of childbirth – and we’re all for it.

The OdonAssist launched this month; an inflatable air cuff designed to support mothers during assisted birthing. The device, first trialled at Southmead Hospital, offers a new alternative to forceps delivery, and has since gone on to deliver 300+ babies across Europe.

We couldn’t be prouder to have our training models involved in the development of the OdonAssist, facilitating safe testing of the new device [see pic below]

Our Nurses. Our Future. Empowered Nurses Save Lives.

⬆️ This years theme for considers our role in lifting up nurses to confidently perform their best.

Once a nurse herself, Mel from our Australian team, considers how confidence shapes the ability to keep patients safe:
“There is one constant in the nursing profession – critical thinking. It is a complex skill, developed with confidence and hands-on learning, to ensure the safety of all patients.

During my time mentoring student nurses, I found the most important key to empowerment was building a safe & supportive environment in which they could ask questions and learn without fear of judgement. Simulation is an important part of this mentorship; guiding students through their learning in a safe space to develop competent, confident practitioners.”

Thank you to all nurses across the globe for their remarkable serviceđź’™
