I cannot believe how hot it's been in the UK the last few days. Everyone is just walking around in a daze, no sleep, lost appetite and hoping our Argos fans don't break 😭🥵 I lived in Florida for a year and the heat just doesn't compare to UK...I'm currently melting at 11pm....heres a nice looking picture anyway for us to admire 🤣 hope you're all coping okay

I think social media has made “doing things alone” look a lot more glamorous than it actually is for a lot of us.

Sometimes my version of enjoying my own company is just getting a coffee, going for a walk, sitting in my pyjamas after work or wandering round the shops for an hour.

Living alone with a disability means a lot of my energy goes into just functioning, working, paying bills and managing my health. I don’t always have the money, energy or capacity for these huge exciting solo experiences people seem to be having.

So this is your reminder that your life doesn’t need to look impressive to still be good.

Normal is more common than we think

POV: You're a single, childfree girl with a disability that works from home so this is what your lunch break looks like. Inside my house it wasn't that hot which is why I wore my jeans...my house is now very warm!

A bit of a photo dump of how I spent bank holiday as a single, childfree girl with a disability
It was 33° in the UK which is unbearable for us...I love a bit of sun, but I like it more when I'm near a pool with a cocktail 🤣🥵
Saturday: Spent most of the day setting up my mum's new phone, haven't been able to contact her for 48 hours! Obviously a reward of a frappe was mandatory
Then took my brother and sister in law to a party before pyjamas and tea. It felt quite productive even though it doesn't look like a lot
Sunday: Woke up with a funny head, thought it was from the late night, did some chores around the house and then started to get a migraine ☹️ went for tea with family and it was good to get out of the house but my head was getting worse...early night and kept fingers crossed it wouldn't get worse
Monday: Spent the entire night with a bad migraine and barely slept. Spent the morning on the sofa feeling guilty for not being out out in the sun...met mum briefly at the shops for my tea. I did manage to sit in the sun fo 40 mins until my head got worse again and headed back inside...
My bank holiday is like any other weekend, resting, chores, eating and a lot of head pain 😢 if you're ever worried you aren't "doing enough" on these weekends, just a reminder that lots of us are doing the same
Did you enjoy your bank holiday/weekend?

No one talks about what it's like to spend bank holiday alone as a single girl with a disability.
Its 33°c in the UK and it's unbearable for most of us. I had planned to do some chores and sit in the garden for a couple of hours but my head started and so I stayed out of the sun and have stayed inside, so that it doesn't get worse. I think these weekends can look like everyone is doing loads of activities but a lot of us are living alone and staying safe
Hope you have all had a nice bank holiday weekend so far?
Also coverless duvet is great! It's from Online Home Shop
Pyjamas from TikTok shop
