Emily Choi will be speaking about the EMPATHY Project on the day:

"The EMPATHY research project has been an exciting opportunity for community organisations to develop and trial a new intervention which helps to improve the dementia assessment pathway for people from ethnic minority communities. Through this research project, those who are usually hidden and previously discouraged by past experience have been supported in taking that initial step into getting a timely dementia diagnosis."

This Dementia Action Week, we've been taking the conversation about dementia into workplaces.

BRACE CEO, Liberty Harrison, visited Computershare's Bristol office and joined their international team online to share the latest in dementia research, tips for good brain health, and practical advice for anyone supporting a loved one living with .

Most importantly, we're encouraging everyone to keep talking. Because awareness matters. Knowing what research is underway, what support is available, and that you don’t have to navigate this alone can make a real difference.

Thank you to Computershare for opening the door to this important conversation.

£9,920... that's how much our amazing Bristol 10k & Half Marathon runners have raised for vital dementia research 🏃

BRACE runner, Scott, raised more than £1,000 (including gift aid):

"I chose to run for BRACE because dementia has affected people close to me, so it felt meaningful to support research that could make a difference in the future. Completing the Great Bristol Run was an amazing feeling — tough at times, but the support from the crowds and knowing I was running for such an important cause kept me going."

This Dementia Action Week: Let's Talk Dementia. Every story shared, every penny raised, and every runner taking on a challenge helps raise awareness of dementia and the urgent need for more research.

Thank you so much to for your incredible fundraising efforts. Together we will defeat dementia.

This Dementia Action Week, BRACE is focusing on the theme ‘Let’s Talk Dementia’.

With almost one million people living with dementia in the UK, and many more affected as family members, friends and carers, it’s more important than ever that we open up conversations about dementia and the vital role research plays in developing better treatments and, one day, a cure.

By talking more openly about dementia, we can help raise awareness, reduce stigma and support those affected by the condition.

If you have a story that you would like to share, to encourage others to talk about dementia, please get in touch.

For people living in and around the Bristol area, please join us on Saturday 23rd May at the Bristol Beacon for ‘Let’s Talk Dementia’ a one stop shop on all things dementia. The event is free, you can join at anytime between 10.30am - 4.30pm.
