World Hormone Day

World Hormone Day World Hormone Day is held each year on 24 April

European Hormone Day began in 2022 to bring together the endocrine community and put the spotlight on endocrine health. The aim was to issue a collective call for change about how hormones and endocrine-related disease are addressed in public policy across Europe. Over the years, the campaign has grown from a European initiative into a global initiative to raise awareness and promote better hormon

e health. On 24 April 2025, the global endocrine community joined forces to help spread the word around the world about why hormones matter and the small steps we can all take towards better hormone health –

Scientific research continues to strengthen our understanding of how exposure to endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs) affects people, wildlife and ecosystems. By advancing knowledge, raising awareness and supporting evidence-based decision-making, we can help reduce hazardous exposures and contribute to a healthier, more sustainable future.

🌱 EU Green Week 2026 highlights the importance of investing in a nature-positive economyβ€”and that means investing in human health too.

Endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs) are found throughout our environment and can interfere with hormone systems, affecting health across the life course. Reducing exposure to these harmful substances is essential for protecting current and future generations.

We call for a strong, science-based EU regulatory framework that identifies, restricts and reduces exposure to EDCs across Europe. Effective regulation is key to creating healthier environments, supporting sustainable innovation and building a truly nature-positive economic future.

As World Hormone Day on 24 April nears, we look forward to standing united with health professionals, patients, researchers and industry to shine a spotlight on hormone health .

When hormones are out of balance or fail, it can lead to the development of prevalent chronic diseases such as diabetes, thyroid disorders, cancer, osteoporosis and obesity, and other health challenges such as infertility.

Despite their impact, these conditions are often underdiagnosed and undertreated. And behind these huge numbers are individual people each going through their own journey.
