🚒 A little goodbye to Tom! 💚

Sadly, it’s nearly time for us to say goodbye to Tom as he leaves Porridge to start an exciting new career with our local Fire Service! 🚒

Tom has been an incredibly hardworking and valued member of our little team and a real asset to Porridge. We’re all going to miss having him around very much!

We’re so pleased for him though and know he’ll be absolutely brilliant in his new role.

Thank you for everything Tom, and the very best of luck from all of us at Porridge! 💚

It has been a busy summer in the shop, online and behind the scenes, so we’ve combined our July and August update into one blog.

🌿 Bank Holiday Monday 🌿

Just a little heads up that we’ll be CLOSED next Monday (31st August) for the Bank Holiday!

We’ll be giving our wonderful Porridge team a well-earned extra day off 💚

We’ll be back open as usual from 9am on Tuesday 1st September, fully stocked and ready to go! Our usual bread order from Vicky's will be delivered on this day also.

Thank you as always for keeping us busy and supporting our little independent shop - we hope you all have a lovely Bank Holiday weekend ☀️

We’ve just had these beautiful handmade soy wax candles arrive from independent British brand Bobella Co. 🌿

Made by their small team in the North East of England, even the stoneware-effect pots are hand-cast in their studio. They’re designed to be refilled and reused, while the dust cover is made from plantable wildflower seed paper 🌱

Choose from three gorgeous scents:

🌊 Sea Salt & Driftwood
🍓 Raspberry & Peppercorn
🌿 Black Plum & Rhubarb

A lovely, more sustainable addition to your home – and they make a rather nice gift too!

A little reminder that you can shop Porridge online and collect your order from us in Brixham - completely FREE, with no minimum spend.

We’ve got over 2,700 products available online, so it’s handy if you want to get your shopping sorted before you come into town.

Simply place and pay for your order online, choose Click & Collect at checkout and select your preferred collection date and time. We’ll get everything ready for you - orders are usually ready within around an hour and you can even click & collect on the same day!

🇮🇹 New Amaretti at Porridge!

We’ve added two more treats from Italian bakery Falcone – their wonderfully soft Amaretti.

🤍 Classici – traditional soft almond amaretti
💚 Pistacchio – soft amaretti with pistachio

Made in Abruzzo, Italy, these are beautifully soft and a little different from the crunchy amaretti you might be used to. Perfect alongside a coffee or as a sweet treat ☕️

PORRIDGE LOCAL DELIVERY HAS ARRIVED 🚐

We’re trialling our own local delivery service across Brixham (TQ5), so you can now shop Porridge online and have your order delivered straight to your door by us!

Local Delivery costs £4.99, or it’s FREE when you spend over £75. A £25 minimum order applies.

Just shop online, enter your delivery address and choose Porridge Local Delivery (TQ5) at checkout. You can also choose your preferred delivery date and we’ll keep you updated by email when your order is on its way.

A few things to know:
• Orders must be placed and paid for online
• Local Delivery can’t be arranged for purchases made in store
• Chilled & frozen products are currently Click & Collect only
