Walfinch Home Care recently had the pleasure of being interviewed by the wonderful Zeenat Noorani The Clarity Coach for Bromley Buzz Bromley Buzz and The Let’s Talk Clarity Podcast.

It was such a lovely conversation, and we are genuinely grateful for the opportunity to share what we care so deeply about. The team here at Walfinch are passionate about helping people live well at home, and it was a real privilege to talk about the work we do, the people we support, and the values that guide us every day.

Home care is about people. It is about building relationships, providing reassurance, supporting independence, and helping individuals continue living life on their own terms. Being able to share why this matters so much to us was incredibly special.

A huge thank you to Zeenat for her warmth, kindness, and thoughtful questions. She made the whole experience feel relaxed and enjoyable, and we loved every minute of it.

We were honoured to be shortlisted as finalists in the Above and Beyond Team category at the Stars of Social Care Home Care Awards for our work with Thrive Club Orpington.

While we didn't take home the award this time, being recognised as finalists among so many outstanding organisations is a fantastic achievement and something we are incredibly proud of.

Our Business Development Manager, Clare Phillips, enjoyed a fabulous evening celebrating excellence across the social care sector and meeting some truly inspiring people, including the wonderful Josie Gibson of Big Brother and This Morning fame!

A huge congratulations to all the amazing home care providers who made the shortlist, and of course to the deserving winners. 🎉

It was a very special (and sparkly ✨) event that recognised the dedication, compassion, and outstanding work being carried out across the home care industry every day.

It was a pleasure to be joined by the Admiral Nurses team at Thrive Club Orpington today.

Alongside our usual physio-led exercise session, and of course tea and cake, Rosina and Angelina shared valuable information about the support and services available to people living with dementia and their families across the borough. They also explained how residents can access this support when they need it.

Sessions like these are a great reminder of the importance of bringing together health professionals, community organisations and local residents to raise awareness and ensure people know where to turn for help.

A big thank you to Rosina and Angelina for giving their time and expertise, and to everyone who attended and contributed to the discussion.

It was a pleasure to attend the Thrive Club (Orpington) this afternoon. A lovely welcoming, professional and upbeat atmosphere! And what a great touch of Walfinch Bromley and Sevenoaks to recognise Clare Phillips for being one year employed 🥳

When it comes to caring for the people we love most, "good enough" is never enough. For families navigating complex care needs, the biggest hurdle isn't just finding a care provider, it’s finding absolute peace of mind. It’s about being able to step away, take a breath, and know your spouse or parent is safe, respected, and truly cared for.

We are incredibly moved by these beautiful words from the wife of a client, who was introduced to our Walfinch Home Care team late last year.

To us, this is so much more than a review. It is the very reason we do what we do. We know that complex care requires more than just clinical skill; it requires consistency, familiarity, and a deep sense of trust.

Thank you to this wonderful family for letting us into your home and trusting us with the person who means the world to you.

Hot weather can be more than just uncomfortable. For many older people it can quickly become overwhelming, exhausting, and even dangerous.

Please take a moment to look after yourself and those around you. Drink plenty of water, keep cool where you can, and if you have an elderly family member, neighbour, or friend, check in on them. Sometimes a quick phone call, a knock on the door, or asking “Are you okay?” can mean more than we realise.

If you or a loved one need extra support during this heatwave, please contact our team. We are here to help, offer advice, and make sure nobody has to face difficult days alone.

Sometimes it’s the little things that mean the most 💛

A trip to the pharmacy. Picking up essentials from the shops. Getting to an appointment safely and without worry. For many older people, these everyday tasks can begin to feel overwhelming, and that’s where compassionate support can make all the difference.

At Walfinch Home Care, we’re proud to offer more than just home care. We offer companionship, reassurance, dignity, and a helping hand to stay connected to the world outside the front door.

Whether it’s accompanying someone to an appointment, helping with shopping, or simply sharing a chat along the way, our carers are there to make every journey feel safe, supported, and personal.

Because care isn’t just about being there at home, it’s about helping people continue to live life with confidence, independence, and a smile 💛

Last month, we had the pleasure of attending the Health and Wellbeing event at the The Walnuts Shopping Centre Orpington.

It was a fantastic opportunity to meet members of the local community, connect with families, and share more about the home care services we provide to support people in living independently and comfortably at home.

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hello, ask questions, and learn more about what we do. It was wonderful to meet so many friendly faces, and we’re grateful for the warm welcome from the Orpington community.

We look forward to continuing to support local individuals and families with compassionate, high-quality care.
