Emma Blunston - Be You Be Yoga

Emma Blunston - Be You Be Yoga However after my first Hot Yoga class at Yoga Haven Solihull, I already felt the benefits and I felt amazing! That’s when I decided to become a Yoga teacher.

Emma Blunston is a fully qualified Trauma Informed Yoga Teacher with over 10 years experience based in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire, with a focus on Mental Health awareness through the power of Yoga and Mindfulness. After struggling to deal with my anxiety around Three years ago, I felt that I needed to look at something which would help to balance my creative busy mind and take me away from the wor

ry and stress that daily life can bring. My mind was so much more relaxed and stresses and worries disappeared, this in turn has made my Marketing and Graphic Design job even more creative as i am able to open my mind even further. Yoga has made me feel like a different person, inside and out, including feeling better about myself. I understand daily life much better, which gives me a greater sense that life is about being in the moment. I decided that I really wanted to share what yoga has done for me, and how it has made me feel. I want a chance to share my passion for making people feel good and helping people in different ways. I call Yoga ‘Magic’ as it really has transformed my life, I just can’t wait to share the magic with everyone else. My Yoga practise covers areas from the
Basics of Yoga (ASHTANGA Yoga)
Core and Building Strength
(VINYASA FLOW) Yoga
Breath (Ujjayi breathing) and so much more...

I will be looking at the Chakras and implementing them in to Yoga Practise/sequences. Im also planning on introducing and learning about Yin Yoga , Restorative Yoga, Pregnancy Yoga and Children's Yoga over the next year or so... so exciting

My Yoga Studio looks a bit like this…💛🧘🏻‍♀️✨🙏🏻

I love nothing more than teaching in different spaces, making yoga inclusive and accessible to everyone.

I have taught yoga in the smallest of rooms, with furniture everywhere and had to really adapt and modify the session so it works around people for still making it a safe space to relax in.

Yoga does not have to be taught in a space that looks “perfect”. I believe in feelings and if you feel safe practicing yoga in a certain space then that’s ok and it should be right for you.

The best place to practice yoga is outside in nature that’s my favourite space to teach and it makes yoga so special.

Sharing Yoga and Mindfulness at The Old Needle Works
💛🧘🏻‍♀️✨

This feedback is amazing. My heart could burst and I'm so proud of this group that I teach every Tuesday morning at the old needle works hub in Redditch.

This hub is very special and helps support and guide people through some very challenging times in their life.

I was thrilled when ONSIDE supporting you were able to secure funding yet again to hold yoga sessions here through Spring and Summer months. This has made a massive impact on peoples mental health and wellbeing and reading the feedback is just incredible.

I'm just so proud and yoga needs to be placed in these spaces more...it's such a gift to offer people.

Here are five things to help regulate your nervous system daily. 🩷🧠 🧘🏻‍♀️

1 - Breathing, take some deep breaths helping to slow cortisol levels down.

2 - Gentle movement / exercise, walking, yoga, running, swimming find something you love that makes you feel good.

3 - Self Massage - promoting self care focus on a lymphatic massage around collar bone, head and neck.

4 - Listen to calming soothing music, sing, hum or chant.

5 - Practice mediation, yoga nidra and mindfulness. All these will help ground you comfort you and regulate your nervous system.

Adding simple habits like this daily can help shift the body from a stressed "fight or flight" state to a calm "rest and relax" state. These are target things you can certainly implement every day.
