We enjoyed another lovely church service here at Broxbourne Nursing Home, led by our wonderful team 💜

Our lovely residents came together for prayer, Bible readings and hymn singing, with a Bible story about Pharaoh of Egypt giving everyone something to reflect on.

Afterwards, there was time to catch up over afternoon tea and some delicious cakes. A lovely way to spend time together and round off the service ☕💜

Sami’s exercise session got everyone moving at Broxbourne Nursing Home! 💃 Our wonderful residents and team joined in with stretches, gentle exercises and a bit of dancing, with plenty of jokes and cheeky comments along the way.

There was certainly no shortage of laughs, and it’s fair to say our residents kept us entertained just as much as the exercises kept us moving! 💜

We had a lovely afternoon of colouring at Broxbourne Nursing Home as our wonderful residents, families and team came together over tea and a few creative activities 💜

Everyone got stuck in, creating some wonderful artwork to help us decorate the home ahead of Remembrance Day. It was lovely seeing everyone sharing the afternoon together and putting their own creative touch to the decorations.

Puzzles and word searches at Broxbourne Nursing Home brought everyone together for a fun and engaging afternoon! 🧩

Residents, families, and staff took part in the activities with great enthusiasm, enjoying the challenge while also sharing plenty of laughter and conversation along the way. It was a lovely opportunity to come together and enjoy some meaningful social interaction.

The afternoon was made even more special with delicious refreshments and lots of cherished moments shared between everyone involved, creating a warm and uplifting atmosphere throughout the home.

September has been another busy month across our Gold Care Homes 💜

From country music and coffee mornings to celebrating the people who help make our homes what they are, there’s been plenty happening throughout the month.

We’ve also been proud to see our homes supporting important causes, raising awareness and continuing to build connections within their local communities.

Alzheimer's Society Macmillan Cancer Support

Last Friday was a lovely day at Broxbourne Nursing Home as our wonderful residents, families and members of the local community came together to support our Macmillan Cancer Support Coffee Morning☕💜

There was plenty going on in the afternoon, with Paul keeping everyone entertained while guests chatted, sang along, had a dance and enjoyed some very tempting cakes and drinks. It was lovely seeing everyone joining in and having a good time together 🎶🍰

A huge thank you to all the families and local community members who donated cakes and helped make the event such a success. Your generosity helped us support such an important cause 💜

We recently enjoyed a wonderful day out to Woburn Safari Park organised by our team here at Broxbourne Nursing Home 🏞️

The journey there was just as lovely, with residents singing along together and enjoying some refreshments on the way, setting the tone for the day ahead. Once we arrived, there was so much to see, from giraffes and zebras to lions, elephants and even bears. It was a real treat spotting so many animals up close, with plenty of excitement along the way.

After the safari, everyone was more than ready for a well earned lunch, which went down a treat. Before we headed home, Josephine and Corinne were already asking when we could go back, which says it all really.

A truly special day out, full of smiles and shared moments that we will be talking about for a while 💜

We were pleased to welcome Helen Green from Age UK Hertfordshire, along with her colleague Graham, to our home for an informative and engaging talk on scam awareness.

Residents and members of our local community joined us as they shared practical advice on how to recognise and avoid common scams, including telephone, email and doorstep approaches. There was plenty of opportunity to ask questions, and it was lovely to see everyone getting involved and sharing their own experiences.

The session was really well received, with lots of useful guidance taken away on how to stay safe. A big thank you to Helen and Graham for spending the time with us and delivering such an important talk 💜

We had a very special day here at Broxbourne Nursing Home as we celebrated some wonderful birthdays together 🥳

Ruth and Brian marked their 87th birthdays, while Eila reached an incredible 97 and Doreen celebrated turning 92. It was such a joy to have their families and friends with us, alongside our residents and team, all coming together to make the day feel truly special 💜

There was plenty of cake, a few thoughtful gifts, and of course some music playing in the background as everyone chatted, laughed and enjoyed the moment together. A lovely reminder of how much these celebrations mean, not just for our residents, but for everyone around them 💐

Last Friday, 11th September, our wonderful residents at Broxbourne Nursing Home enjoyed an afternoon at TC’s Golf Day, organised by Tony, the next of kin of one of our late residents. The event raised funds for the Alzheimer's Society ⛳💜

Mick was delighted to catch up with his son and some of the players he has known since they were young, while Jeff, our keen sports enthusiast, enjoyed chatting with guests and taking in the action.

There was plenty going on, with prizes for nearest the pin, longest drive and putting, as well as the chance to win a car with a hole in one on the 18th! The post golf entertainment was hosted by comedian Aaron James, with special guests, an auction and raffle adding to the afternoon.

A huge thank you to Tony for organising such a fantastic event and for his continued support of Broxbourne Nursing Home. We’re incredibly grateful for all the support he has shown our home over the years. 💜
