Teens Unite Fighting Cancer

Teens Unite Fighting Cancer Improving the lives of teenagers & young adults living with, & beyond cancer. This inevitably has a massive impact on their friendships and self confidence.

Teens Unite Fighting Cancer was co-founded by Karen Millen OBE and supports teenagers (aged 13-24) with cancer.. The charity aims to help young people build on their self esteem and self confidence and reduce feelings of isolation by taking them on fun days out. Activities range from concerts and football matches to motivational art and beauty workshops. The charity is based in Hertfordshire but s

upports teens from all across the South East. What makes Teens Unite unique as a charity helping this age range is that we support teenagers through treatment, remission and beyond, for as long as they need. The teenage years can be challenging enough without being devastated by a life-limiting diagnosis. We find that our teens need support post treatment more than ever as they have missed large amounts of school, work or university due to treatment. Our main aim is to get our teens together as often as possible in a fun-filled environment; giving them the chance to share their experiences and gain strength from realising that they are not alone in their battle. We recently asked our teens to fill in a questionnaire about the charity. One teen said that "Teens Unite is my lifeline".

Youโ€™re invited!๐Ÿ’Œ

Weโ€™re inviting local residents to join us for a special Community Open Event to discover Teens Uniteโ€™s plans for building Englandโ€™s first dedicated retreat for young people living with, and beyond, cancer, in the Borough of Broxbourne.

Overcoming cancer is about more than medical survival. Teens Unite supports 13โ€“24-year-olds with the mental, social, and emotional impact of cancer through activities, residential stays and programmes - so they can rebuild confidence, connect with others, and move forward with their lives.

To ensure more young people receive the support they need - weโ€™re creating a dedicated retreat - the first of its kind in the country.

Weโ€™re proud to be bringing this special project to the heart of the local community that has been home to the charity for nearly 20 years, and we want local people to be part of its story from the very beginning.

Join us for tea, cake, and conversation as you explore the beautiful grounds, hear more about our vision, and be part of the next chapter of this exciting project.
Spaces are limited. Tap the link below to find out more and book your space.

TYA Fest is back for 2026! ๐Ÿ˜

Last year, we hosted our first ever TYA Fest at our site in Broxbourne, where young people living with, and beyond cancer spent the day making friendships, rebuilding confidence, trying new things and just having FUN - something that can feel really difficult during and after treatment. From live music to glitter stations, sports, and amazing food, TYA Fest has become such a special day for the young people and families we support at Teens Unite. Take a look at our TYA Fest last year below!

As we are planning the final special touches to bring this yearโ€™s event to life, weโ€™re looking for support to help make the day as incredible as possible. Weโ€™ve created an Amazon Wishlist with lots of items needed for the festival, from goody bag items and decorations to games and activities:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/hz/wishlist/ls/1ETAY8QHBUQ2H?ref_=wl_share

Weโ€™re also looking for support with:
โ€ข A portable power station for our outdoor gaming tent
โ€ข A blacked-out gazebo/tent for our gaming tent
โ€ข Goody bag donations - mini sun creams, fans etc
โ€ข Soft drinks / BBQ food donations
โ€ข A Polaroid camera to capture all of those special memories
โ€ข A photographer for the day

Weโ€™d also love to hear from any businesses interested in supporting or sponsoring elements of the event. Every bit of support genuinely helps us create a day where young people can switch off from hospital appointments and cancer for a while, connect with others who understand, and make positive memories together.

Please do reach out if youโ€™d kindly like to support in any way.
A HUGE thank you to some of the incredible individuals/brands that have so kindly offered their support already for this year! Amy's Bakehouse, The iOutlet, Kellys Travel

We had such an exciting May at Teens Unite! Take a peek at a few highlights from the month!๐Ÿคฉ

Colour Run๐Ÿƒ
Kicking off our monthly highlights, we hosted our second ever Colour Run, where over 200 participants ran and walked their way through bursts of colour while raising more than ยฃ6,700 to support young people overcoming cancer. Thank you to everyone who took part - weโ€™re incredibly grateful for your support.

Photography programme๐Ÿ“ธ
A group of young people we support took part in our Photography Programme, where they learned the fundamentals of phone photography, explored creative techniques, and discovered how to tell their stories through images. The programme concluded with a selection of their work being showcased online during Mental Health Awareness Week.

Charlotte Tilbury๐Ÿ’„
We made our way to Charlotte Tilbury in Covent Garden for a makeup masterclass! Guided by professional makeup artists, the young people had the opportunity to learn from guided tutorials, explore a range of makeup products and left feeling pampered, uplifted, and connected with others who truly โ€˜get itโ€™.

Gameshow Fun๐ŸŽฒ
We headed to Leeds for a day of game show fun, at Game Show All-stars, where a group of young people we support went head-to-head in a series of exciting challenges and games.

London & Manchester๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ
Race Across London was back for another year, bringing together a group of young people we support to solve riddles and complete challenges as they raced between checkpoints across London. The day was full of laughter, teamwork, and unforgettable memories. Not only did we take on Race Across London - we also headed to Manchester to complete the challenge there too! Another amazing day filled with teamwork, problem-solving, and plenty of fun along the way.

We have so many amazing activities and events coming up for TYAโ€™s and our supporters! Tap the link in our bio to see๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿคฉ
