Welcome to Bubba Calm. Hi My name is Emma, I have been qualified and working in childcare since 2003, and have worked in nurseries within the public and private sectors in central and outer London. I qualified as a baby massage instructor with the International Association of Infant Massage in 2011. I ran classes in Children's Centres for three years. I then had my own kids, which I did baby massa

ge with them and thoroughly enjoyed the 1:1 bonding time with them. I enjoy seeing parents bonding with their babies and showing parents the various massage strokes to help babies with colic, gas and aiding in better sleep. Classes are for 5 weeks and last for an hour to hour 1/2. Classes cover strokes on: Legs and feet Chest Arms and hands face Back
Routine for colic, gas and constipation.
Time to chat at the end with refreshments and normally something sweet! I hope you enjoy baby massage as much as I do. Look forward to seeing you soon. Emma

Did you know that today is World Meditation day 🧘🏻

Here is a breathing technique that mums can do during a feed or a nap time. 💤🤱🏻

It’s called box breathing:

You inhale for 4
Hold for 4
Exhale for 4
Hold for 4

Great one for supporting your nervous system and to ease anxiety.

Let me know in the comments how you get on with it 👇🏻

Let’s talk about my birth experience.👶🏼

💜 When I found out I was pregnant with my first child, I was so happy. To prepare us for the birth we decided to sign up to my local NCT class and it was great, got to learn about the birthing process, different types of pain relieve, birth plans, birthing partner and a little bit about after birth.

💜 What I found helpful before the birth was honestly having my birthing plan written up, which I gave to the midwife as soon as I arrived at the mid wife led unit.

💜 I was very lucky that my birth went to plan, and I managed to have the water birth that I wanted with minimal checks.

💜My one word for my birth experience would be JOY.

So now your turn- ONE word. That’s all I want 🤰🏻Describe your birth experience in ONE word below 👇🏻

As Mental Health Awareness week comes to an end, I just want to leave this here for any parent that needs to hear this tonight 💛

You do not have to have it all together.

If this week has reminded you of anything, it’s

🌿You are not alone
🌿Support matters
🌿struggling doesn’t make you a bad parent
🌿You were never meant to do it all on your own

Behind so many smiles are parents that are overwhelmed, exhausted, anxious, questioning themselves or just need someone to say that they are doing okay.

So this is your little reminder tonight 💛

You are doing better than you think and the small things you do everyday matter.

Thank you to the Bubba Calm community, to anyone that has been to one of my classes, liked or shared a post, I’m so grateful.

Here’s a question for you:

💛What’s one positive thing, however tiny, from your mental health journey as a parent? Share below 👇🏻

Sleep deprivation can be really hard and have a huge impact on parents emotionally 💓

And while baby massage and baby yoga aren’t a “quick fix” for sleep they can help aid relaxation, calm connection and emotional wellbeing for both parent and baby. 🌿

Through touch, movement, bonding and slowing things down these sessions can create calmer moments in a time that can quite overwhelming.

If this post resonates with you at all then pop a 🌿 in the comments or message me to find out more about my calm sessions.

Did you know?

This week is Mental Health Awareness Week 🧠💚

I always like to raise awareness around mental health, especially as I have suffered myself as I’m sure many people have or currently are.

Here’s my story:

💜After having my first baby back in 2013, I suffered with postnatal depression. I didn’t want to admit that I was struggling.
You see I had worked in childcare, always wanted children and I had all these wonderful ideas of what mother hood would be, but I think I put too much pressure on myself at the time.

In the end, once I had started listening to my body and tuning into my baby I thoroughly enjoyed my time with my baby. 👶🏻

If I could go back and tell myself anything it would have been this:

💜Trust your instincts as a mother, you know your baby best
💜Take the help where you can get it, don’t try and do it all alone. This time in your life you really need “The Village”.
💜Your the best thing for your baby

Let me ask you this:

What’s ONE thing that’s genuinely helped your mental health since having a baby?

Here’s something people don’t always realise about what I do 💛

It’s not just about baby massage and baby yoga, it’s about this too…..

Baby classes can give you the chance to relax, connect with other parents and maybe enjoy a hot drink and a slice of cake 🍰

Launching this June at Oving Village Hall 🤍

If you’re pregnant and wanting to feel calm, informed and confident as you approach birth and early parenthood, this course is designed to help you prepare in a way that feels realistic, supportive and empowering.

Over four sessions (plus a Life with a Newborn session), we’ll cover:

Bank Holiday with a baby…. It’s a lot, isn’t it? 🌷

Instead of slow mornings and switching off it can look like this:
💜Broken sleep
💜Feeding, changing, settling in repeat
💜Trying to do everything at once

And you might be thinking, why doesn’t this feel easier?

But just to let you know that you’ve got this and your not alone ✨

It’s not about the perfect days it’s about getting through one moment at a time and this may be different for everyone.

The washing and the house cleaning can wait.

You are enough and everything that your baby needs 🌿

If this resonates with you then leave a 💜 in the comments of tell me how your weekend is really feeling, I’d love to hear.

5 common myths about baby yoga 🧘🏻 👶🏻

💜 My baby has to be ‘Good’ and calm the whole class.

Truth:- Babies cry, feed, wriggle, sleep and need cuddles. This is completely normal and welcome in my classes, as it’s all baby-led.

💜 It’s only for parents that already do yoga 🧘‍♀️

Truth:- Absolutely not. You do not need any yoga experience at all. My sessions are relaxed, welcoming and beginner friendly.

💜 Baby yoga is just exercise 💪🏽

Truth:- It’s so much more than movement. Baby yoga can gently support:
1. Bonding
2. Relaxation
3. Body awareness
4. Sensory development
5. Parent confidence

💜 My baby is too young/too wriggly, too unsettled. 👶🏼

Truth:- Every baby is different and my sessions are flexible and adaptable

💜 I need to bring lots of things with me 🎒

Truth:- You really don’t.
All you’ll need is:
1. Yourself
2. Your baby
3. A blanket/changing essentials
4. Milk if needed
Everything else I provide.
