I've been a bit quiet on social media of late, tending to my own roots and keeping myself grounded. Working through grief, changes at work (instigated by me and positive, but change nonetheless), re-doing my branding and website, embracing camping with friends (for those that know me well, this is a BIG deal!!! and I am proud to say I am a converted camper!!) encouraging my teenage boys along their relevant paths (job hunting, driving tests and GCSE's) and spending more time reading.

The changes in the weather have made me stop and feel like hibernating a bit again. But as the sun is starting to tease us and come out again, I'm warming up too ๐Ÿฅฐ

If any of this resonates, I'm glad you're here.......feel free to say hi below๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿป

This little one stopped me in my tracks the other day. (Thatโ€™s her in the picture, doing approximately nothing, at her own pace, completely unbothered). We talk a lot about progress. About showing up. About doing the thing. But what if the mist healing thing you could do today was move more slowly? The snail doesnโ€™t rush the journey. She carries her home with her. She moves exactly as fast as she needs to. Rome wasnโ€™t built in a day. And the person you are becoming isnโ€™t built in one either. Small steps count. Quiet days count. Rest counts. Whatโ€™s one small, unhurried step youโ€™ve taken recently that youโ€™re quietly proud of?

Busy minds need more than a good night's sleep. They need to be shown how to slow down.

That's exactly what a sound bath does.

You know how certain songs or pieces of music can stop you in your tracks, slow your breathing, soften something in your chest without you even trying? That's your brain responding to sound in real time. A sound bath works with that same instinct, but deeper. The sustained tones of crystal bowls and gongs gently guide your brainwaves from their usual busy chatter into something much slower and quieter, the kind of state that's usually only possible in deep sleep. People who practise sound meditation regularly find they fall asleep more easily, wake less and over time feel less weighed down by low mood. Not magic, just your nervous system finally getting a chance to exhale.

This is for you if you're tired but wired. If your body needs rest that busyness won't allow. If you've tried winding down and still find your mind whirring at midnight.

What to expect:
You'll lie on the floor (on your mat and cosy under your blanket) while sound moves around and through you. There is no right way to experience it; some people feel emotional, some feel deeply sleepy, some feel a tingling or heaviness in their body. All of it is welcome. You leave with no homework, no steps to follow. Just a quieter version of yourself, ready for a proper rest.

You're probably very good at keeping going. But when did you last truly stop?

Not scrolling-on-the-sofa stopping. Not falling asleep mid-sentence stopping. Actually, consciously, giving your nervous system permission to rest.

A sound bath is an hour of therapeutic sound with crystal bowls, gongs and resonant instruments played around you while you lie still. The vibrations aren't just beautiful to listen to; they have a measurable effect on the body. Research shows sound therapy activates the parasympathetic nervous system shifting you out of "fight or flight" and into "rest and restore". Heart rate slows, cortisol drops, muscles release. One study found a single sound bath session produced significant reductions in anxiety and fatigue. Regular practice is associated with improved sleep quality and a greater sense of emotional balance.

If your mind is always on, if sleep feels like it's just out of reach or if your body is carrying tension you can't quite shake then this is your invitation.

What to expect:
Wear something comfortable, bring a mat and blanket, and arrive ready to do absolutely nothing. You'll lie down for the duration and let the sound guide you into rest. Some people drift off entirely. Others stay in a quiet, floaty awareness. Either way, you leave feeling different; softer, quieter, more yourself.

๐ŸŒฟ Have you been feeling the pull towards sound healing but not quite sure where to begin?

This summer, I'm bringing the next Bucks & Herts training to Waterford, Hertfordshire and I'd love for you to be part of it.

It's an intimate, fully accredited course with that takes you step by step from complete beginner to qualified sound healing practitioner.

No experience needed. Just curiosity and an open heart.

โœจ One of my recent graduates put it beautifully:
"Alex is such a caring and encouraging trainer, her calmness and support help you to believe in yourself and your dreams."

๐ŸŽ“ Whether you want to qualify to hold group sound baths or go all the way to the 1:1 Sound Therapy Diploma, there's a pathway here for you.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Places are limited and kept intentionally small. Drop me a message or follow the link in bio to find out more.

This might be just the thing you need.

When did you last have an hour that was entirely yours?

No notifications. No to-do list. No thinking about what's next.

Just you, sound and space to breathe.

Sound baths use resonant instruments like crystal singing bowls, gongs, and chimes. The sound isn't just lovely to listen to, it actually does something. Those vibrations give your nervous system a gentle nudge out of "go, go, go" mode and into genuine rest. Your brain shifts from its usual busy chatter into slower, quieter states like the kind it only reaches in deep sleep. Scientists have found that people leave sound bath sessions with measurably lower tension and anxiety, less physical pain and a much stronger sense of calm. Not bad for lying down with your eyes closed! ๐Ÿฅฐ

If you're running on empty, struggling to switch off at night or just craving something that helps your body and mind genuinely rest then this is for you.

What to expect:
You'll lie down comfortably (bring a blanket and pillow if you like) and simply let the sound wash over you. There's nothing to do and nothing to get right. Most people drift into a deeply relaxed state โ€” some sleep, some experience vivid imagery, some simply feel a profound stillness. Afterwards, many describe feeling lighter, calmer, and sleeping more deeply that night.
