What if the thing holding you back isn’t lack of motivation but something you’re yet to understand?

When life feels uncertain, our minds often default to self-criticism or avoidance.
It’s natural, our brains are designed to protect us from discomfort and the unknown.

But what if, instead of judging yourself, you became curious about yourself? 🤨

✨ Replace criticism with curiosity.

Instead of:
❌ “Why do I keep procrastinating?”

✅ “What might be holding me back right now?”

Instead of:
❌ “I should be better than this.”

✅ “What could I learn from this feeling?”

Neuroscience shows that curiosity activates areas of the brain linked to learning, motivation, and reward.
When we’re curious, we’re often less reactive, more open-minded, and better able to problem-solve. 👊

💭 “Curiosity is the wick in the candle of learning.” – William Arthur Ward
I love this quote…

The next time you feel stuck, pause and just gently ask yourself:

🔎 What’s really going on beneath the surface?

🔎 What might this resistance be trying to tell me?

🔎 What’s the smallest step I could take today?

Curiosity isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about creating space to explore, learn, and move forward with greater self-compassion.

If this resonates with you and you’d like support understanding what’s holding you back, without judgement or criticism, I’m here to help.

I offer Hypnotherapy &EFT (tapping) sessions online and in person in Burgess Hill and Hurstpierpoint.

📩 Send me a message to arrange an initial consultation to discover how you can start moving forward with more confidence and clarity.
I use what I teach on my own mind every day.
I get it.
I’ve been completing case studies this week for my advanced EFT course and I’ve had all the feels.
Getting started, where will I find the time, not knowing where to begin, doubt from old beliefs from childhood, time blindness but I redirect, dust myself off and begin!
I’ve tapped on it all. It’s amazing what our subconscious tells us when we speak to it.
You can too! 😌

Staying In My Lane 🚶‍♀️

The older I get, the more I realise that staying in my own lane is one of the healthiest things I can do.👊

Not every day is a good day.
Not every week feels productive.
Sometimes it’s okay to not be okay.

Self-sabotage often shows up when we spend too much time looking sideways. Comparing.
Measuring our progress against someone else’s highlight reel.
Focusing on what we haven’t done instead of what we have achieved.

But here’s what I’m learning…

Keep moving forward.

Celebrate the small wins.
Acknowledge how far you’ve come.
Recognise the challenges you’ve already overcome.

And as for all those things you think everyone is noticing about you?

Most people are too busy worrying about their own lives to be keeping score of yours.

So stay in your lane.😌
Focus on your journey.
Give yourself permission to be human.
Keep putting one foot in front of the other.

Progress doesn’t have to be perfect to count.
Karen ✨

🌿 A 20-minute walk can change more than your mood.

When life feels busy, it’s easy to stay stuck in your thoughts, overthinking, planning, worrying, and trying to keep all the plates spinning.

Taking time to step outside, move your body, and connect with nature can help calm a busy mind, reduce stress, and create the mental space needed to think more clearly.

Sometimes the smallest actions have the biggest impact on how we feel.

🌿 Today, this was my reset.
💛 Follow for more simple, practical ways to support your mental wellbeing.

How often do you say YES when every part of you wants to say NO? 🤔
The language we use has a huge impact on our thoughts, feelings, and actions.
Yesterday, I was talking with a client about one of the 3 Ps: Positive Interaction.
So I’m sharing…
When we overthink, we can often end up people-pleasing.
We say yes when we mean maybe, and maybe when we really mean no.

The problem?

Every unnecessary “yes” can add something more to your stress bucket. 🪣

Eventually, that bucket becomes too full, leaving your mind and body feeling stressed, overwhelmed, and exhausted.

If you don’t have the capacity, saying no isn’t letting someone down, it’s looking after yourself! That’s ok 👌🏻
Before you agree to something, pause and assess the situation. 💬

Remember:
🛑 No doesn’t mean never.
🛑 No doesn’t need a lengthy explanation.
🛑 No can simply mean “not today.”

Don’t say no because of fear or self-doubt.
But do say no when your mind and body are asking you to slow down. 🛑
The people who care about you will adjust.
Taking care of yourself isn’t selfish it’s necessary.
Me, I remind myself of this, most days! 😌

❤️ Save this post for the next time you feel guilty about saying no, and share it with someone who needs the reminder.🐝

If everything feels heavy and sometimes you don’t even realize how much you’ve been carrying.

I thought I was afraid of failing.
Actually, I was afraid of what failure would say about me.

I used to tell myself I wasn’t good at learning.

In truth, I was scared of how it made me feel.

Exposed. Vulnerable. Not good enough.

So I avoided it.

I avoided trying, because trying meant risking failure… and failure felt like confirmation of everything I already feared about myself.

Things change when you begin to feel safe enough to grow.
This weekend I’m continuing to do my case studies for advanced EFT. I qualified in 2025 but I’m continuing my learning.

I’m learning more about myself than I ever have before. Not just theory learning, but deep, personal, emotional learning.
It’s uncomfortable at times.

I don’t run away from it anymore.

I let myself feel the emotion.

I embrace it.

I stand my ground.

Because this is what healing looks like.

This is how confidence is built, from the inside out.

Is this you?

If you’ve ever felt like learning, growing, or simply being seen is too overwhelming, I see you.

Step forward.

You don’t have to do it alone. 👊

Can you relate?
Have you ever avoided something because of how it might make you feel?

I don’t get distracted because I’m lazy.
I get distracted because something underneath needs my attention.

EFT for me!
I practice what I preach too.

I get so distracted.
I’m like a butterfly.🦋

Honestly, I know I’m doing it.
I tell myself, “Just stay focused.”
I actually say it out loud to remind myself to “lock in,” as my daughter would say! 😌

But here’s the thing…

Distraction isn’t always about time management.
It’s often emotional.

Hence the EFT (Tapping).

Instead of fighting the feeling, I just have to notice it.👊

I ask myself:
What’s underneath this distraction Karen?

Frustration?
Overwhelm?
Fear of failing?

Sometimes a little bit of everything.

I have to use my awareness.
Recognise the emotion.
Allow it.
Tap through it.
Release it.

And then… I get stuff done.👍

More calmly.
More clearly.
More me. 💛
