Could you help shape the future of melanoma care?

MyMelanoma is the world’s largest study into melanoma, aiming to improve understanding, treatment, and long-term outcomes.

Researchers are looking for people who have ever had melanoma (skin, mucosa, or under the nails) to take part - including those about to begin immunotherapy treatment.

The study aims to:
• Understand how lifestyle may affect melanoma recurrence
• Improve tests to better predict outcomes and personalise treatment
• Explore cancer risk in families

If you’re eligible, you can sign up or find out more here:
www.mymelanomastudy.org

By taking part, you could help improve care for thousands of people in the future.

Targeted Lung Health Checks are now available in Burgess Hill!

If you're aged 55 to 74 and are a current or former smoker, you may be eligible for a free lung health check - provided we have your smoking status on record.

These checks are part of the NHS Lung Cancer Screening Programme, designed to detect lung problems early, when treatment is more likely to be effective and less complex.

Look out for a yellow envelope in the post. If you receive one, please take up the invite - it could save your life.

As temperatures rise, it’s important to take a few simple steps to keep yourself and your loved ones well. Hot weather can lead to dehydration, overheating, heat exhaustion and heatstroke if we’re not careful.

Top tips to stay well:
💧 Drink plenty of fluids throughout the day
🕶️ Stay in the shade, especially between 11am and 3pm
👕 Wear light, loose clothing and a wide-brimmed hat
🏠 Keep your home cool by closing curtains during the day
🚿 Take cool showers or use cool water on your skin
👀 Check in on older neighbours, friends and family

People most at risk include older adults, young children and those with long-term health conditions.

If you or someone else feels unwell in the heat, it may be heat exhaustion or heatstroke, so it’s important to act quickly and seek advice if needed.
