Some people leave a mark on your life that never really goes away.

In 2011, our founder lost his mate Ian to su***de.

That loss is the reason why Six Connections exists today. Not because we want to focus on the crisis, but because we want to do everything we can to start the conversations before someone reaches it.

Su***de Prevention Day can be a difficult day for anyone who has been affected by su***de. The memories, the questions, the “what ifs.”

They don’t disappear just because the date on the calendar changes.

Ian will always be the reason WHY we do what we do. This is his legacy ❤️

At ONE Slater Terrace, we have Carters, our bar named in his memory. A place for people to come together, have a drink, have a laugh, share a story and most importantly, connect.

That’s what this is all about.

Checking in with your mates.
Having the conversation.
Listening when someone needs it.

Making sure nobody feels like they have to face things alone.

So today and every day, ask yourself one simple question.

How are my mates?

If you’re struggling, please remember, there is always someone who cares and there is always someone you can talk to 💙

September is looking VERY busy at Six Connections😅

After a slightly quieter August (we needed a breather!) we’re heading into September with new projects, new conversations and plenty happening across the month.

We have a couple of talks as part of Su***de Prevention Week, alongside our work with local businesses, a new networking event (more info coming soon!), a chat with The Young Farmers and plenty more happening behind the scenes.

So, we thought we’d start something new and give you a little monthly roundup of what’s happening in our world.

🎥Give the reel a watch to find out what we’ve got coming up, and keep your eyes peeled because there’s lots more to share.

And if you’re interested in finding out more about our Foundation Sessions training programme starting this month, drop us a message or email [email protected].

Here’s to a busy September⭐️

This isn’t just training. This is about changing how people show up for each other, every day🙌🏼

Six Connections gives your team the tools to talk, listen and support properly… not just when things get tough, but BEFORE they do.

We are a firm believer that better conversations build better workplaces and we’ve seen first hand the impact that happens when people feel confident enough to have them.

Our next Six Connections Mental Health Training Programme starts this September 🗓️

We know mental health can still be a tricky subject to talk about in the workplace, so we’ve created these sessions to help make those conversations a little easier.

Six sessions, taking place once a month over six months for anybody in your business.

You don’t need to be a mental health expert, a wellbeing champion or an HR director to get involved.

We help you to create a space where we can talk about mental health when people are doing well, not just when there’s a problem.

Whether you’re looking to enhance the existing mental health conversation in your workspace or the subject has never been introduced, these sessions are for you.

Drop us an email at [email protected] and let’s start the conversation💙
