Some people leave a mark on your life that never really goes away.
In 2011, our founder lost his mate Ian to su***de.
That loss is the reason why Six Connections exists today. Not because we want to focus on the crisis, but because we want to do everything we can to start the conversations before someone reaches it.
Su***de Prevention Day can be a difficult day for anyone who has been affected by su***de. The memories, the questions, the “what ifs.”
They don’t disappear just because the date on the calendar changes.
Ian will always be the reason WHY we do what we do. This is his legacy ❤️
At ONE Slater Terrace, we have Carters, our bar named in his memory. A place for people to come together, have a drink, have a laugh, share a story and most importantly, connect.
That’s what this is all about.
Checking in with your mates.
Having the conversation.
Listening when someone needs it.
Making sure nobody feels like they have to face things alone.
So today and every day, ask yourself one simple question.
How are my mates?
If you’re struggling, please remember, there is always someone who cares and there is always someone you can talk to 💙
