Well, that’s another challenge ticked off the list and absolutely smashed! 💪🔥

Huge well done to Mr Barrow, who can officially say he’s no longer a hot yoga virgin! 🧘‍♂️😅

Stepping outside your comfort zone is where growth happens, and despite a few raised eyebrows beforehand, he took it all in his stride and gave it 100%.

Two minds. One vision.

Carrie and I met today to continue working on a very specific project that we’re both incredibly passionate about.

There have been plenty of ideas, lots of discussion, and a shared ambition to create something that we genuinely believe will make a difference.

What’s most exciting?

As far as we’re aware, this hasn’t been done before.

We’re not quite ready to share all the details just yet, but what we can say is that it’s innovative, educational, and designed with people at the heart of it.

Sometimes the best things start with a conversation, a notebook full of ideas, and the courage to think differently.

LET ME REINTRODUCE MYSELF…

Hi, I’m Julie Barrow, founder of POWERFIT UK and Discover Health UK.

I’m a qualified Nutritionist, Personal Trainer and Mental Health Exercise Coach, passionate about helping people take control of their health through education, movement and sustainable lifestyle change.

My approach is simple: no fads, no gimmicks, and no quick fixes.

I help people understand the fundamentals of health so they can make informed decisions, build confidence, and create habits that last a lifetime.

Over the years I’ve had the privilege of working with hundreds of individuals, schools, community groups and businesses, supporting them with everything from nutrition and weight management to strength training, mental wellbeing, workplace wellness and menopause education.

My mission is to cut through the noise and bring health back to basics.

When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me spending time with my family, walking the dogs, training, planning my next workshop, or finding new ways to help people become the healthiest version of themselves.

Health doesn’t need to be complicated.

It just needs understanding, consistency and the right support.

Food Taste vs Food Value

One of the biggest mistakes people make with nutrition is believing they have to choose between foods that taste good and foods that have nutritional value.

The truth? The most successful approach is learning how to balance both.

Really enjoyed being part of The Menopause Collective monthly discussion this evening.

A safe, supportive space where women can openly discuss symptoms, share experiences, gain support, and most importantly, feel heard.

A huge thank you to Carrie Hill for creating and nurturing such a valuable community. Bringing women together to learn, connect, and support one another through the challenges of perimenopause and menopause is incredibly important, and your passion for making a difference shines through.

Menopause can feel overwhelming at times, but having a space where there is no judgement, no pressure, and plenty of understanding makes all the difference.

Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to another fantastic evening of conversation, education, and support. 💜

Well done this week, Carly! 👏

As we all know, weight loss is rarely linear. The scales only tell a small part of the story.

Reducing body fat, losing inches, feeling stronger, and increasing muscle mass are often far more meaningful indicators of progress than a number on the scales.

This week has shown exactly why it’s important to look at the bigger picture. Consistent habits, patience, and focusing on the right variables are paying off.

Keep trusting the process, celebrating the non-scale victories, and recognising just how far you’ve come. The goal isn’t simply to weigh less, it’s to build a stronger, healthier, more resilient body. 💚
