Blood Vessels - The nose has a rich network of blood vessels, particularly near the skin’s surface. Injecting fillers near these vessels can lead to complications
Nerves - The nose is also rich in sensory nerves, which are important for sensation. Poor injection technique can cause temporary or permanent nerve damage ‼️
Vascular Occlusion
A significant risk associated with dermal fillers is the possibility of vascular occlusion. This occurs when the filler is accidentally injected into or near a blood vessel, obstructing blood flow. The nose has important arteries, such as the angular artery, which supplies blood to the nose, upper lip, and parts of the eye. If a filler travels into this artery or one of its branches, it can block blood flow, potentially leading to:
❌Tissue Necrosis - A lack of blood flow can cause skin death, leading to painful, visible skin damage or scarring.
❌Vision Loss - In severe cases, if the filler travels to the eye’s blood supply, it can cause vision loss due to the blockage of blood vessels that supply the optic nerve.
