Let’s have a chat about microneedling. I`ve had so many inquiries and questions over the past week about this popular treatment. It’s such a versatile treatment that can be used on face, neck, under eyes, arms, stomach, scalp literally anywhere. The key to a successful treatment is using a targeted medical grade serum or PRP/PRF that targets your specific concern. It’s a suitable treatment for any one no matter age or skin type. This treatment offers a wide range of benefits for skin & hair rejuvenation, addressing so many concerns.
So, what is microneedling? Microneedling is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that uses tiny, sterile needles to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin. This process, also known as collagen induction therapy, triggers your body's natural healing response to produce more collagen and elastin, leading to smoother, firmer, and more youthful-looking skin, thicker, healthier hair. Add a targeted medical grade serum or plasma produced by your own body and boom! The results are off the chart!
Microneedling is a safe and effective treatment suitable for almost all skin types, including darker skin tones, as it does not use heat and carries a lower risk of post-inflammatory pigmentation compared to some laser treatments.
On its own or combined with an ongoing treatment plan here are the key benefits of professional microneedling
•Reduces fine lines and wrinkles: By stimulating collagen and elastin production, the skin becomes firmer and more elastic, which helps to smooth out fine lines, crow's feet, and deep wrinkles.
•Treats scars: It is highly effective in reducing the appearance of various scars, including atrophic acne scars, surgical scars, and burn scars, by breaking down scar tissue and encouraging the growth of new, healthy skin cells
•Improves skin texture and tone: The treatment leads to a more even complexion and smoother skin texture by promoting cell turnover and regeneration.
•Minimizes pore size: Microneedling stimulates collagen around the pores, causing them to plump and tighten, which makes them appear smaller.
•Reverses sun damage and hyperpigmentation: It can help to break up melanin deposits and encourage new, unpigmented skin cells to surface, which can fade sun spots, age spots, pregnancy mask and melasma.
•Enhances product absorption: The micro-channels created during the procedure allow topical skincare products, such as serums and moisturizers, to pe*****te the skin more deeply and work more effectively.
•Increases skin elasticity: The boost in collagen and elastin helps restore the skin's natural "bounce," making loose or sagging skin appear tighter and more youthful.
•Treats stretch marks: It can be used on various body parts to help fade stretch marks by remodelling the damaged skin tissue.
•Promotes hair growth: When used in combination with topical treatments like minoxidil or combined with PRP/PRF treatments microneedling stimulates hair growth and renewal.
What to Expect During Treatment
•Preparation: A topical numbing cream can be applied to ensure the procedure is virtually painless however 9 out of 10 people find the treatment comfortable enough without this.
•The Procedure: A professional microneedling pen-like device is used to create the punctures or micro channels. The actual needling typically takes about 30 minutes.
•Sensation: Most people describe it as a light "prickling" or "scratching" sensation.
