Hello everyone, we hope you are enjoying the sunshine. Remember to use a good sunscreen, drink extra water-based drinks frequently and take shade over the next few days when the sun is at its hottest.

Our next coffee morning is Monday 6th June at Freedom Hall, Mill Road, Gt Barton 10.30-12.30. There is plenty of free parking. There will be no speakers in June but there will be plenty of time to enjoy refreshments and a relaxed chat with others who have had a spell in ICU or their families.

A warm welcome awaits so do come along. 🤗

Feel free to pop into our next coffee morning on the 9th February 10.30am-12.30pm.
We’re going to be talking about what delirium is, the effects and recovery afterwards. We’d love to see you there. Open to those who have had a Critical Care stay and your loved ones.

What does delirium actually feel like for patients with sepsis?

Delirium and subsyndromal delirium are often described clinically, but far less often through the patient’s own lived experience. This study shifts the lens to the body and mind as experienced from within.

Your voice matters!!
If you, or a loved one, has had a stay in Critical Care, please consider completing this survey.
It will help frame research undertaken moving forward. Thank you.

Your voice matters when it comes to priorities for Intensive Care (ICU) research.

In Autumn, the Intensive Care Society heard from over 500 patients, family members and healthcare professionals about questions they believed research should answer.

This list has been reviewed and condensed into 59 summary questions, which includes:

▪️Access and admission to ICU
▪️Diagnosis, treatments and support, and
▪️Outcoms in ICU and/or during recovery

They now need you to decide which of these questions are the most important to you.

Who can take part?

✅ Adults (18+) living in the UK who have had an intensive care unit (ICU) stay.

✅ Family members, friends, or carers of a person who had an adult ICU stay (including those who have been bereaved).

✅ Healthcare professionals working with adults in ICU or with patients recovering after ICU (including rehabilitation and support services).

This work is funded by the Intensive Care Society and supported by the James Lind Alliance and the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR).
