A big thank you to Michelle and Alex!

We're so grateful to them both for volunteering their time to tidy, sweep and pot flowers at The Elms.

'We really enjoyed gardening and we're looking forward to doing more in the future', they said!

Last week our Grundy Hub knit and natterers delivered a box of knitted hearts to Bury Hospice, after they saw the Facebook appeal.

These colourful hearts are knitted in pairs; one is given to the person who's on end of life care and the other to their loved ones.

We met Kathy from the hospice inpatient unit, who explained how much comfort this simple idea can bring people at a very difficult time.

We enjoyed a drink and cake at the lovely onsite café and were so happy to get a lovely thank you card from hospice staff that said 'thank you to the lovely ladies who have responded to the request for knitted hearts. They are very much appreciated.'

Do you dream of having a job but feel like it's impossible?
Cameron wanted a practical job where he could stay active and be part of a team.
Chained Events needed a reliable barback who could keep the drinks flowing at venues across Manchester.
Now everyone's got what they wanted...
..and Cameron's working at his second major music event this summer; Live From Wythenshawe Park!

Cameron's really enjoying his job. With Zabeena to help him prepare for the weekend, keep him motivated and build his confidence on the job, he's learnt that he can be responsible and professional even in a busy working environment.

"I'd definitely recommend Persona Employment Pathways because they are supportive, understanding and genuinely want to help people succeed", he says.

If you live in the Bury borough, are over 18, you have a learning disability or you're neurodivergent, take a look at what we can do to help you get a job you love.

We can:
-help you decide what's important to you
-give you one to one support finding a job or volunteer role and for six months after you get one
-teach you the skills you need
-support you to get a qualification

Get in touch and we'll see if we can help you, or signpost you to someone who can!

alt text: reel of video clips and photos. An empty festival stage and people arriving at the grounds, Cameron walking to work at the bar, taking a break by walking around the festival and back at work measuring drink into cups, smashing ice and working with team members. The final two images show Cameron walking away into a pink and gold sunset, then raising his two forefingers in a victory salute. Captions on the reel read: I’m really enjoying my job. Every event is different; it’s fun, exciting and always changing. I’m working at Live at Wythenshawe Park! I’m learning lots about myself; I’m surprised I’m so comfortable at large events - I‘m not usually a fan of big crowds! It’s getting easier to adapt to different situations, my timekeeping is better and I’ve learnt the importance of taking a break! I enjoy working with other people. It feels great when managers recognise my hard work. I’d love to work at Formula 1 or the Isle of Wight festival. I’m excited to see where this opportunity takes me!
