Whilst we do need to pay our mortgages… I think as an industry we need to do better. Patient outcomes need to be as important (if not a lot more important) than the margin.

Hedgehog release!!

found this little lass a few weeks ago wandering around in a daze in the afternoon sunshine. Pretty weird so after a quick call to High Peak Hedgehog Rescue to check what she should do, this hedgehog was whisked into Buxton for rehab 😍

After treatment for capillaria, roundworm and fluke, May the hedgehog was set free in her field this afternoon! What an end to the week! Fair thee well little hodgeheg!

provided a brief stint of hedgehog day care in a weird but wonderfully Buxton hedgehog prerelease. Heroic!

Bracken (Spring Spaniel / Collie Cross) - 11 years old
Fly (Collie - Retired) - 12 years old

Despite having no formal university education, Bracken and Fly list an impressive range of healthcare qualifications on their CVs, including a Diploma in Advanced Biscuit Detection (Fly), a Level 4 Certificate in Emotional Support Tail and Bum Wagging (Bracken) and specialist training in Opportunistic Snack Retrieval (both).

Previous patients have described Bracken and Fly as “highly patient-centred,” although concerns remain regarding their tendency to doze on the job.

Both Bracken and Fly tend to attend clinic on Tuesdays but will gladly have a day sleeping in a sun spot at home if patients prefer their exercise rehab and osteopathy without dog support! Let the team know when you book!

The plan is all coming together!

I plant 2 trees for every appointment and the impact of those little daily actions is starting to mount up. Last year I covered more than my family of four in terms up carbon captured by those trees 💚💚💚

Pretty cool in its own right… but here’s the cool thing. Those trees are a bonus. The carbon reduction doesn’t even feature in the businesses carbon reduction. Plan. The clinic is already carbon offset (as am I individually), powered by renewables and adding more sustainable approaches as soon as I can think of them!

So those carbon footprints being covered off are all net positive to this fine little planet we call home. Not to mention homes for animals, jobs for tree planters (mainly women). Bloody marvellous.

Oh and I dabble in rehab and osteopathy 😂😂😂
