Sensory Story Time

Sight/Sound/Touch/Smell story aimed at SEND children and their families told using sensory props

We are excited to invite SEND children and their families to a Sensory Story Time session at Hattersley Library.

This session is a special one with pet therapy with Fiona and Ziggy from Pets as Therapy.

Hattersley Library is a large, spacious building with an open-plan junior area where the story will take place. Children will sit in a circle and be invited to play with the props. There is no expectation for children to participate with the props if they don't wish to, they are free to come and go from the circle as they please.

Toilet Training children with SEND - Driving Digital Inclusion.
Online event
Tuesday 9 June • 7 PM - 9 PM

Advice and strategies for parents and carers on how to toilet train a child/children with additional needs.

This workshop is delivered as part of our Driving Digital Inclusion Programme.

All children learn to use the potty or toilet at a different stage in their life. Most children start to show an interest in moving on to a potty or toilet at about two years old. Children with additional needs may not be ready to start until they are older. This workshop will help you to understand when they are ready and how to start so you can better support your child.

You will learn:
• What it means to be toilet trained, inside and outside the body.
• Know if your child is ready and how you can prepare them.
• Know what a plan may look like, when to start it and how.
• Know where to get support.
