Bone Health In Wales has improved significantly due to the dedication and commitment of Dr Inder Singh in driving the cause forward.

He has now been recognised for his work with an OBE. Isn't it wonderful!

Due to his work, people in Wales will now benefit from improved osteoporosis care through Fracture Liaison Services. Earlier diagnosis and referral when a fracture is identified, leading to better care for you.

Watch the latest from ITV News - Dr Singh works out of Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr and hopes the honour could help draw attention to his work on osteoporosis.

Sometimes the greatest act of self-care is simply taking the first step.

In a world that never seems to slow down, give yourself permission to pause.

Take a deep breath.
Walk among the trees.
Stretch your body.
Quiet your mind.
Reconnect with yourself.

Wellbeing isn’t about being perfect – it’s about creating small daily moments that nourish your mind, body and spirit.

At Unity in Health Cymru CIC, we believe healthier communities are built one person, one conversation and one mindful step at a time. Through movement, breathwork, meditation and connection with nature, we help people discover simple tools that can make a lasting difference to their health and happiness.

🟠 Your wellbeing matters.
🟣 Your journey matters.
🟢 You matter.

Take a moment today to breathe deeply, look up at the sky, and notice something beautiful around you.

What are you grateful for today? 💙💚

We are so proud of Dr Inder Singh who is our Patron. His dedication and commitment to Bone Health has been recognised.

We are so proud of Dr Inder Singh who is our Patron. His dedication and commitment to Bone Health has been recognised.

We are delighted to announce that Dr Inderpal Singh, an inspirational Gwent Geriatrician, has been awarded an OBE (Officer of the Order of the British Empire) in the 2026 King’s Birthday Honours list in recognition of his services to osteoporosis care in Wales.

As the National Clinical Lead for Bone Health in Wales, Dr Singh is extremely passionate about falls prevention, frailty and osteoporosis care, and has worked tirelessly with colleagues and partner organisations across Wales and the UK to strengthen care for older people.

Dr Singh said:
“I am deeply humbled and truly honoured to receive this recognition. When I received the letter, I was overwhelmed with emotion, my eyes quietly welled up, and my heart was filled with immense gratitude. This recognition reflects the collective effort, commitment, and compassion of clinicians, nurses, allied health professionals, managers, and support staff across Wales.

“Above all, I wish to thank my family for their support. Their love, patience, and understanding, especially during long evenings and demanding periods of work, have made this journey possible.

“This honour strengthens my resolve to continue striving for high-quality, equitable care for our ageing population, and to support the dedicated workforce who deliver it every day.”

Huge congratulations, Dr Singh - we are immensely proud of you!

🌿 The Heart that Overflows 🌿

Self-Care • Service • Smile

How often do we give from an empty cup?

Tonight's Sunday Night Meditation invites us to explore a different way: caring for ourselves with compassion so that kindness can naturally overflow into the lives of others.

Inspired by the three S's of the Mind and Body Wellness Programme—Self-Care, Service and Smile—we'll reflect on how nurturing our own wellbeing enables us to serve with generosity of spirit and an open heart.

Join us for a peaceful guided meditation to end the weekend feeling grounded, replenished and connected.

*Pause. Breathe. Notice.*

In our busy lives, it’s easy to walk past the beauty that surrounds us without truly seeing it.

On your next walk, take a moment to slow down. Notice the intricate textures of a fern unfurling, the delicate petals of a wildflower, the smooth curves of a leaf, and the way the sunlight dances through the grasses.

Listen beyond the traffic and everyday noise. Can you hear the cacophony of birdsong, each call weaving into nature’s own symphony? Feel the breeze on your skin, breathe deeply, and allow yourself to be fully present in the moment.

Mindfulness doesn’t have to happen on a yoga mat or in silence—it can be found with every step you take in nature.

Walking mindfully helps calm the mind, reduce stress, improve focus, and reconnect us with the world around us. Sometimes the greatest gift we can give ourselves is simply to stop, notice, and appreciate.

Today, wherever you are, take five minutes to look a little closer. You may be surprised by the beauty that has been waiting for you all along.

💚 Walk gently. Breathe deeply. Live mindfully.
