It's Christmas week, a time when the pressure piles on and it can all be quite stressful. Stress has been shown to negatively impact the gut microbiome.
Serotonin regulates your mood, anxiety, and happiness. Low levels of it is linked to depression. Your gut microbiome, however, can increase the production of serotonin. So if it's not working properly whilst you are stressed, serotonin is low.
So eating these serotonin-packed foods can help balance out the gut microbiome again and promote happiness.
A fruit salad and a tomato bruschetta starter on Christmas day maybe?! 😆 Do you notice an increase in mood when eating these foods? Let us know in the comments ⬇️
