Today we had another happy customer who got in contact with us as they'd seen our Empowering Me: Help in the Community flyer.
Help was needed with clearing some garden waste and then taking it to the dump.
Well done guys another great job done!

Empowering Me: Help in the Community, had our first customer yesterday. The lovely lady we helped out, had a power cut, and the lift wasn't working, which meant she wasn't able to do her shopping and take it back up to her place.
So Russell Billington came to the rescue by doing the shopping and delivering it straight to the door, making a difficult situation much easier for Angela.
Angela was thrilled, and Russell felt a great sense of achievement!

We're really excited to introduce our new venture with you all, which we will be doing alongside our usual activities.
This is a volunteering service that Empowering Me is introducing to our team members to help gain skills within the community by helping others, and to assist with any future life/work goals, and as ever, paving a path to greater independence and reaching their full potential!

Ben's now into his 3rd month of volunteering at the Britishheartfoundation charity shop, working in the stock room, and we're thrilled to say, he's doing a great job!
We've been working towards him progressing in his role to work independently, which will hopefully be happening very soon.

This week we would like to give a big shout out to our fantastic team member Will!
Since joining us, over a year ago, Will has come on in leaps and bounds with his willingness to try new things, coping really well with any changes, his social interactions when we're out in the community, and his relationships with his fellow team members.

This is Matthew, one of our amazing team members!
He's always happy, and brings a smile to lots of people's faces, especially the residents at Hale End, who love his half time vanishing trick!
We'd like to give a shout out to Matthew for how far he's come, with giving new things a try, pushing his boundaries, and trying to say yes to things he might have said no to in the past.

We can't believe it's been a whole year since Empowering Me first opened its doors!
It's been an incredible journey, and has been amazing to see all our team members thrive throughout our first year!
We can't wait to see what the next year brings, with exciting new ventures in the pipeline, and new team members joining us, as we continue to grow!

This week we're giving a big shout out to our amazing team member Theo!
When he first came to us, he was lacking in self confidence and was very reluctant to try new things, (even reluctant to join Empowering Me).
We can't believe how far you've come, in less than a year, we've seen your self confidence and belief grow massively! We are constantly astounded by how you are now always open to trying new things.

Here is something Emma, one of the manager at Hale End Day Centre where we volunteer, said about Theo:

"When Theo first joined us at Hale End Court, he was quiet and shy. Over the months, his confidence has grown beautifully. He now chats easily with staff and tenants, delights everyone with his finger‑puppet shows, and impresses us with his brilliant number skills. Tuesday afternoons have become brighter with him around, and we truly look forward to his visits."

A big shout out to our team member Russell Billington who has been with us since the start!
Russell came to us, only wanting to focus on outdoor gardening activities, but over his time at Empowering Me, he has shown a real willingness, and enthusiasm, to try/learn, lots of new things, and sometimes even pushing himself out of his comfort zone!
Well done Russell! Keep up great work! 👏🥂
