Results from a small clinical trial of CUE1+ has shown it's safe and has the potential to help manage movement symptoms of Parkinson's.

CUE1+ was developed by a company called .neurotech. It's a small, chest-mounted, device that delivers rhythmic vibrations throughout the day. To understand the potential benefits, researchers at carried out a trial involving 50 people with Parkinson's. The results suggest that the device was safe and easy to use, and may have the potential to improve movement symptoms, particularly slowness of movement, in people with Parkinson's.

Rigidity, often described as muscle stiffness, is one of the most common motor symptoms of Parkinson’s. It can make everyday movements feel slower, more effortful and more tiring.

Current clinical guidelines recommend managing rigidity through a combination of:

✔ Medication prescribed by your Parkinson’s specialist
✔ Regular physical activity
✔ Physiotherapy
✔ Evidence-based technologies that complement standard care

The CUE1+ has been proven to help with rigidity in Parkinson’s patients. The CUE1+ is a wearable device that delivers continuous vibrotactile stimulation over the sternum. This type of cueing is designed to support movement by providing rhythmic sensory stimulation throughout the day.

In clinical studies, people using the device demonstrated an average 12-point improvement in MDS-UPDRS Part III (Motor Examination) scores, a widely used measure of Parkinson’s motor symptoms. This is considerably above the minimum of 3.25 point increase considered to be clinically important!

While individual results vary, these findings strongly suggest that our wearable cueing technology provides additional support alongside existing Parkinson’s treatments.
