I had to scroll very far back to find this before-and-after — and it’s clear that it’s not only my photography skills that have improved! 📸
We initially introduced polynucleotides in 2023 and have continued to treat the delicate under-eye area approximately twice a year since.

Polynucleotides are chains of nucleotides — the building blocks of DNA 🧬 — derived from purified freshwater fish. When injected into the skin, they act as messengers, stimulating fibroblast activity and supporting the production of collagen and elastin.

They can also help improve skin hydration through their water-binding properties, while stimulating antioxidant activity to help protect the skin from oxidative stress.

Looking at this before-and-after, it’s lovely to see the improvements we’ve achieved in the delicate under-eye area:

✨ Increased hydration
✨ Reduced appearance of laxity
✨ Brighter, more refreshed-looking skin

A great example of how consistent, considered treatment over time can support gradual and natural-looking improvements in skin quality.

One of the most common phrases we hear when discussing aesthetic treatments and skincare is that they “boost collagen”. But what does that actually mean, and how does it work?

Collagen is a protein that provides much of the structure, strength and support within our skin and other connective tissues throughout the body.
As we age, our natural production of collagen gradually slows. This process can also be accelerated by environmental and lifestyle factors, including sun exposure, smoking and excess sugar consumption.

Collagen plays an important role in maintaining skin that looks smooth, firm and resilient. As collagen levels decline, we may begin to notice increased skin laxity, fine lines and a reduction in the skin’s overall resilience and elasticity.

With so many treatments and products claiming to “boost collagen”, it can be difficult to know which options are appropriate for your skin and which are most likely to deliver the results you are looking for.
Biostimulators are particularly popular at the moment. These are injectable treatments designed to stimulate the body’s own production of collagen and, in some cases, elastin. Unlike traditional dermal fillers, which primarily work by adding volume, biostimulators aim to encourage a biological response within the skin.

When deciding how best to support collagen production and improve your skin, several factors should be taken into consideration:

🤍 Your primary skin concern — such as laxity, dehydration, skin texture or volume loss.

🤍The type of treatment you are comfortable with — whether that is an injectable treatment or a less invasive option such as microneedling or topical skincare.

🤍Your timeframe and budget — different treatments require different levels of investment and may produce results over different time periods.

🤍Your suitability for treatment — including any contraindications or factors that may affect which options are appropriate for you.

To discuss which treatment may be best suited to you, schedule a consultation to discuss a personalised plan to benefit your skin goals.

‘ What can I do about my neck? ‘ is a question I hear more and more during consultations, and the answer isn’t always as simple as a one step treatment.

Combining multiple modalities will often provide the best results, however we may not all have the time, budget or be suitable to combine treatments.

Below are some options on how to target neck concerns:

- SPF! The simplest and cheapest way to prevent environmental and sun damage is to wear your daily SPF.

- Invest in a medical grade neck and décolleté retinol! In the PM apply a vitamin A to boost skin turnover and help reverse superficial signs of ageing.

- Microneedling aka collagen induction therapy. You can either target the face AND neck or focus on the neck and décolleté alone. Tiny micro-wounds trigger a wound healing cascade to promote production of type 1 collagen.

- Polynucleotides 🧬, the now famous salmon / trout DNA fragments stimulate collagen, encourage hydration and reduce inflammation.

- With 64mg of high and low molecular weight hyaluronic acid, Profhilo is a great choice to hydrate the neck and create the perfect environment for new collagen and elastin production.

When the Cryo globes are hitting differently post micro-needling ✨

Did you know that micro-needling continues to work in the background for up to 4 months post treatment?
That gorgeous glow which usually comes around a week after treatment is due to fluid shift and increased blood flow to the skin.

The real magic happens after this during the remodelling phase of recovery. Type 1 collagen is slowly built which reveals firmer and smoother skin.

Some studies have shown that after a course of micro-needling collagen supplies can be boosted by up to 400%.

Using in clinic for safe and effective results, micro-needling is a staple for healthy skin.

I know we all dislike the ‘before photos’ and pulling facial movements is a little weird when there’s an iPad staring back at you, but these photo’s are incredibly important in helping us establish a true baseline of where we started.

As we begin to subtly tweak and enhance our features, we naturally become much more aware of certain movements, asymmetries, or lines. In most cases, these were already present before treatment — we simply hadn’t noticed them before.

Having these before photos allows us to look back objectively and identify the small movements or lines that have always been there, rather than assuming they are new.

It’s also very common to experience “perception drift,” where over time we feel we look no different to when we first started treatment. Revisiting your before photos can be a great reminder of your genuine starting point and a valuable way to appreciate what consistent, appropriate treatments have achieved.

On a side note, these images are never shared without your consent and are stored safely within your patient file. 🤍

Always my number one treatment in clinic - tox 🤍

Important things to remember about our fave injections:

- Toxin is a POM (prescription only medication) and you must therefore see a prescribing professional prior to treatment.

- Dosing is individual and we all need a variation of units for our individual needs / muscle strength.

- Your toxin schedule is up to you. Quarterly, bi-annually or just before a big occasion - it’s all on your terms.

- Toxin works best as a preventative, once we develop deeper lines these can be tricker to treat.

- You will not have ‘full effect’ for 12 weeks, it is normal for movement to creep back in around 6-7 weeks (sadly).

- It’s not just the classic three area anymore, there are many smaller areas around the face which can compliment results.

- There are many brands on the market and you may find your results vary dependent on brand.

Hello 👋

Lots of new followers and consultations being scheduled lately which I am super thankful for.

This is one of my favourite photos (despite the chronic claw hand) from so thought I’d drop it with some more information about me.

I qualified as a registered adult nurse in 2014 and worked mainly in acute adult settings for 9 years before switching over to my current role within primary care as an advanced nurse practitioner.

My current role includes seeing poorly patients with acute onset of illness and assessing if treatment or onward referral is needed. It’s a very varied role but also keeps me up to date with latest management of conditions which directly relates to understanding some of my patients medical history when I see them in clinic.

As an independent nurse prescriber, it’s my responsibility to understand your medical history - if any, and to recommend treatment which is safe and suitable for you and will not interfere with any current medications or health conditions.

I love all things regenerative medicine and will always tell you if something may not be right for you. It’s important to me that you understand the way your treatments work and the long term benefits of treatments. It’s also important you understand the risks of treatment which is why consultations are essential to ensure you’re happy to proceed with treatment.

I work Sundays at and you’re welcome to always book a consultation if you would like to discuss any of the treatments I offer in more detail. Alternatively pop me a message if you have any quick questions about the treatments I offer 🤍.
