Have you noticed yourself becoming more impatient lately?🔥
A small comment annoys you. A minor inconvenience suddenly feels unbearable. You lose your temper faster than before.
It may not simply be that your temper has changed.
The impact of the Fire Era is not limited to wildfires, explosions, or accidents. It can also affect something much closer to us: our emotions.
Modern research shows that high temperatures, sleep deprivation, and chronic stress can reduce emotional resilience.
Traditional Chinese Medicine described this pattern long ago.
When Heart Fire rises, people become restless and emotionally unsettled.
When Liver Fire rises, irritability and anger become more easily triggered.
During the Fire Era, external heat can continually fuel the Fire within.
Add late nights, pressure, and emotional strain, and it becomes like adding wood to an already burning furnace.
And when that fire keeps building, it doesn’t always look like anger.
Sometimes it’s impatience. Sometimes anxiety. Sometimes overreacting.
And when everyone’s Fire is burning a little hotter, conflicts become easier to ignite.
One person’s emotional imbalance may seem like a small matter. But when it happens again and again, across more and more people, it can eventually escalate into a **man-made crisis**.
🧠 **In short:**
The first Fire you need to manage is not the fire outside you. It’s the fire within you.
Before asking, “Why is everyone becoming so difficult?”
Perhaps ask yourself:
**“Is my own fire burning too strongly?”**

The Li Fire Period: The Real Challenge Is Maintaining Stability
Throughout this series, we explored more than individual diseases.

We looked at:
• Changing disease patterns
• The concept of Fire-related patterns
• Fever and inflammation
• The difference between mild and severe illness
• The gradual loss of body resilience

The deeper question behind all of these is:
How can the human body remain stable in a changing world?

From a TCM perspective, health is influenced by the interaction between:
🌍 The external environment
🦠 Disease-causing factors
💪 The body’s regulatory ability

The Li Fire Period does not mean that disease will simply increase.

Rather, it invites us to reflect:
When the world changes faster, can we still maintain our internal balance?

The future challenge may not only be about avoiding viruses.
It may be about protecting our ability to recover, adapt, and remain stable.

Because true health is not the absence of all storms.
It is the ability to remain steady through them.

保持恢復能力;
維持調節能力;

In a changing environment, the goal is not to avoid every challenge.
The more important question is:
Does the body still have the ability to adapt and recover?

In TCM, “Zheng Qi” (正氣) is not simply about never getting sick.
It refers to the body’s overall ability to maintain balance.

A stable body depends on:
🌙 Maintaining healthy rhythms
🥗 Supporting proper nourishment
🚶 Keeping appropriate movement
🧘 Managing emotional stress
🌿 Allowing sufficient recovery

Modern life often encourages constant output:
Working harder.
Sleeping less.
Pushing through fatigue.

But the body is not designed to remain in a state of continuous demand.

Recovery is not a luxury.
It is part of maintaining resilience.

The goal of health is not perfection.
It is having enough reserve to respond when challenges come.

Because true protection is not the absence of difficulties.
It is the ability to return to balance.

👉 Next:
After exploring disease, imbalance, and recovery, what is the deeper message behind the Li Fire Period?

做更多;
睡更少;
忍耐疲勞;

From the previous post, we discussed that the body’s stability is not lost overnight.
It is often the result of long-term imbalance between consumption and recovery.

So why does this become an important topic during the Li Fire Period?
From the perspective of Five Movements and Six Qi (Wu Yun Liu Qi), “Fire” does not simply mean higher temperature.

It represents a pattern of:
🔥 Faster changes
🔥 Greater fluctuations
🔥 Increased stimulation
🔥 Higher demands on adaptation

When the external environment becomes more dynamic, the body may need to spend more energy maintaining balance.

At the same time, modern lifestyles can add further pressure:
• Lack of sleep
• Chronic stress
• Constant stimulation
• Fast-paced living
• Insufficient recovery time
From a TCM perspective, these factors may gradually affect the body’s ability to regulate itself.

The issue is not that the Li Fire Period directly “creates disease”.
Rather, it may highlight a deeper question:
Can the body still adapt effectively when external changes increase?

The hidden risk is often not a sudden breakdown.
It is the gradual loss of resilience over time.

👉 Next:
If the body’s stability can be depleted, how can we rebuild and protect our inner balance?

Many people assume that health problems begin when a disease appears.
But from a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) perspective, the body often starts changing long before illness becomes obvious.

The key question is not only:
“What disease do I have?”
But also:
“Has my body’s ability to maintain balance already changed?”

The body is constantly trying to maintain a dynamic balance between:
• Recovery and depletion
• Adaptation and external stress
• Energy use and restoration

When the rate of depletion continues to exceed recovery, the body may gradually show signs such as:
• Slower recovery
• Increased sensitivity to stress
• Poorer sleep quality
• Persistent tiredness
• Reduced ability to adapt to changes

These signs may not mean illness has already developed.
But they may suggest that the body’s reserve and regulatory capacity are being reduced.

This may also explain why some people who appear healthy can struggle more when facing infections or major physical stress.

The real question is not only:
“When will illness happen?”
But:
“How much stability does the body still have?”

👉 Next:
Why does the Li Fire Period make this hidden depletion more noticeable in modern life?

Why Do Some People Recover Quickly While Others Become Seriously Ill?
After discussing "Heat Patterns", another important question follows:
If two people are exposed to the same infection, why can their outcomes be so different?

Modern medicine has identified many risk factors, including age, chronic diseases and immune function.

Traditional Chinese Medicine looks at this from another perspective:
The body's ability to maintain balance.

TCM refers to this as Zheng Qi (Healthy Qi).

It is not a single organ or a single immune cell.
Rather, it represents the body's overall capacity to regulate, recover and adapt.

When Zheng Qi is strong, the body is often better able to contain illness and restore balance.

When it has been weakened by prolonged stress, poor sleep, overwork or chronic illness, recovery may become much more difficult.

In TCM, particular attention is often given to the Heart, Lung and Kidney systems, as they play key roles in circulation, respiration and recovery.

The important point is not to fear illness.
It is to understand that the body's resilience is just as important as the pathogen itself.

👉 Next post:
If the body's resilience is so important, what everyday habits may be quietly weakening our Zheng Qi without us even noticing?

心主血脈,維持循環;
肺主氣,負責呼吸與衛外;

Why Does Traditional Chinese Medicine Place Greater Emphasis on "Heat" During the Li Fire Period?
In the last post, we explored the meaning of fever.

But in Traditional Chinese Medicine, "Heat" means much more than having a high temperature.

It describes a pattern of how the body responds.

Within the theory of the Five Movements and Six Qi, the Li Fire Period is not simply about hotter weather.

It represents a shift in the overall rhythm of the environment — one that tends to be more dynamic, more changeable, and more consuming.

From this perspective, the body may also become more prone to:
🔥 stronger inflammatory responses
🔥 faster progression of illness
🔥 greater physical exhaustion
🔥 increased stress on the heart, lungs and circulation

This does not mean every illness is caused by the Li Fire Period.

Rather, it suggests that under certain environmental conditions, similar response patterns may become more common.

This is what TCM refers to as a "Heat Pattern."

In other words, the focus is not simply: "Which virus is causing the illness?"
But also: "How is the body responding to it?"

Perhaps this is why different infections can sometimes lead to surprisingly similar patterns of inflammation and recovery.

👉 Next post:
If "Heat" reflects the body's response, why do some people develop severe illness while others recover with only mild symptoms?

Fever: Is Your Body Breaking Down… or Fighting Back?
When we develop a fever, most of us instinctively want to bring it down.
But is fever always a bad thing?

From a modern medical perspective, fever is one of the body's natural defence mechanisms. By raising body temperature, the immune system creates a less favourable environment for certain pathogens while activating immune cells.

From a TCM perspective, fever is also more than just a number on the thermometer.
It reflects the body's response to the struggle between healthy Qi (Zheng Qi) and external pathogenic factors.

This is why two people can both have a fever, yet their conditions may be completely different.

Some recover after a day or two. Others develop persistent high fever, increasing inflammation and rapid deterioration.

The important question is often not: "Is there a fever?"
But rather: "What kind of fever is this, and what is the body trying to tell us?"

Understanding fever is not about fearing it.
It is about understanding the body's response.

👉 Next post:
If fever is only one expression of the body's response, why does Traditional Chinese Medicine place so much emphasis on "Heat" during the Li Fire Period?

有些人發燒一天、兩天,很快便恢復;

In earlier posts, we discussed how different diseases can show similar patterns of severity, even when the pathogens are different.

But before fever, before clear symptoms, the body often changes quietly.
Health rarely shifts from “normal” to “serious” overnight.

More often, it moves gradually:
• Energy feels less stable
• Recovery takes longer
• Sleep becomes lighter or irregular
• Small discomforts appear more often
• The body feels less “resilient” than before

From a TCM perspective, this reflects an early stage of imbalance in the body's regulatory system.

Not yet illness — but no longer full balance.

In the context of the Li Fire Period (離火運), where environmental and physiological fluctuations may be more pronounced, these early signals may become even more important to notice.

Because by the time clear symptoms appear, the body has often already been adjusting for some time.

Perhaps the real question is not: “When did the illness start?”
But: “When did balance begin to shift?”

👉 Next post:
Is fever a sign of defense — or a signal that the body is under strain?

Why Do Different Viruses Produce Similar Severe Illness Patterns?
In the previous post, we discussed the idea of "Fire-Pattern Illness" (火象疫病).
This raises an interesting question:
Why do diseases such as Hantavirus, Ebola and certain hemorrhagic fevers—despite having completely different pathogens—sometimes lead to surprisingly similar severe outcomes?

From a modern medical perspective, these diseases are distinct.

Yet when severe illness develops, common features often emerge:
• Intense inflammation
• Circulatory disturbance
• Blood vessel involvement
• Multi-system stress
• Rapid deterioration

From a TCM perspective, the focus is often not only on the pathogen itself, but on the pattern of response occurring within the body.

In other words: Different diseases may trigger a similar "disease tendency."

This is why TCM places importance not only on the disease name, but also on the underlying pattern behind it.

Perhaps the more important question is not:"What virus is this?"
But:"What kind of response is the body entering?"

👉 Next post:
Before obvious symptoms appear, the body may already be shifting out of balance — what are the earliest signs?
