Sundays for me recently have been all about slowing down and doing the things I enjoy… even if that’s simply chilling on the couch and allowing myself to rest. 🤍

Today I’ve been reflecting on my week and thinking about how I want the week ahead to look.

On Friday, the kids were off school so we went to visit a farm park in Dumfries with my mum. I honestly haven’t laughed that much in such a long time. Before we went, I made the decision not to look at any work stuff and to stay off social media so I could be fully present in the moment… and my inner child definitely came out to play. ✨

It reminded me how important it is to make space for joy, connection and simple moments.

So for the week ahead:
🤍 I’ll be spending less time on my phone so I can be more present with the people around me
🤍 I’ll be making sure I have something fun planned… because well, that’s what it’s all about!
🤍 And I’ll also be giving myself time to simply do nothing, with no expectations or plans - even if that’s just for a few hours.

I always wake up with a heart full of gratitude after a meditation class… and today is no different 💫

Last night was absolutely beautiful. Watching people on their journey and knowing you get to be a small part of that really is such a special thing to witness. Seeing people relax, open up, let go and connect with themselves is something I never take for granted ✨

I also absolutely loved adding more sound into the meditation… and as most of you know, I LOVE my drum 😂🥁 The energy felt so calming, grounding and powerful all at once.

So here are the next meditation classes for June:

🌙 Tuesday 30th June – Guided Meditation & Sound Journey

✨ SOUND JOURNEY MEDITATION ✨
A journey back to calm 🤍

Join me on Tuesday 19th May from 7pm–8pm at The Malachite Studio in The Loft for a deeply calming guided meditation experience with soothing sound.

This session will include:
🌊 Ocean drum
🥁 Gentle drumming for grounding
✨ Koshi chimes
🤍 Guided visualisation
🌙 Deep relaxation & nervous system calming

At the beginning of the session, you will also be invited to place any worries, thoughts or heaviness into the “thought box” — allowing yourself space to fully rest, breathe and simply be for the hour.

This is your invitation to slow down…

Do you spend time alone? 🤍

I took myself away to Troon for the day because I needed some time on my own, and it made me realise that I don’t actually spend a lot of time doing things by myself. There’s always the kids, work, or other commitments.

But honestly… it was so refreshing.

I spent time walking around, then sat on the beach with just me and my thoughts. I know that can sometimes feel like a scary place to be, but wow, I think we forget how important it is to reconnect with ourselves.

I even tried to do a little meditation. I closed my eyes and just as I was settling into it… something hit me on my head 😂

A ladybird 🐞

Now, whether you believe in signs or not, the spiritual meaning of a ladybird can be a message from a loved one in spirit — and that really resonated with me because it was exactly a year that day since my Grump passed.

I came home realising I want to spend more time with myself doing things like this. Don’t get me wrong, I love spending time with friends and family, but there’s something so different about choosing your own company too.

So tell me… do you spend time alone or make time to take yourself places by yourself? 🤍

Thank you so much to everyone who came along to meditation last night 💛

I always leave that class feeling so much gratitude. The space we create together each week feels so special, so thank you for showing up, sharing your energy, and allowing yourselves that time to pause and breathe.

Our next class is Tuesday 19th and we’ll be continuing with the theme of Calm 🌙

This session will also include soothing sound elements including drumming, ocean drum and Koshi chimes to help ground the body, calm the nervous system and bring you even deeper into relaxation.

When people used to talk about self care, I always thought it meant a wee pamper night… a face mask, painting your nails, and nowadays even shaving your legs 😅

But as I’ve got older and started to really understand what self care means, I’ve realised it looks different for us all — and it changes too.

For me, self care can be getting out a walk. Sometimes with friends and/or family having a good chat, other times completely on my own with my headphones on, or just immersing myself in nature 🍃

Another is being by the water, especially the sea. There’s just something about breathing in that fresh sea air that clears your mind and settles your soul 🌊

And more recently, I’ve rediscovered baking. Being in the kitchen on my own with a bit of Stevie Nicks playing… pure magic ✨

Self care isn’t always glamorous. Sometimes it’s simply the little moments that make you feel like yourself again 🤍
