My clients know I’m not a huge advocate for foam rolling — especially for ITB symptoms.

That said, some people do feel better afterwards and enjoy it. But I always hear:

“It hurts SO bad on my ITB.”

Here’s why 👇

The iliotibial band (ITB) is a thick, dense band of connective tissue. It’s supposed to be tight.

Yes, people can get symptoms around this area — like many connective tissues in the body — but trying to “loosen” the ITB itself is often extremely painful, with very little actual loosening happening.

Instead, try foam rolling the muscles that attach into the ITB:
• TFL (tensor fasciae latae)
• Gluteus medius

Usually less pain… and better chance of “loosening”. 💪

Nick vs. the Paris Marathon… and somehow Nick won 🏃‍♂️🇫🇷 (not the race☺️)

Over the past few months, marathon training tried its best to take him out — knee pain, back pain, hip pain, calf pain… you name it, it showed up 😅

Bit by bit, we kept patching him back together in physio while he kept showing up, putting in the miles, and refusing to quit.

Fast forward to race day in Paris… and he goes and completes the whole thing 👏

Proof that a mix of determination and the right support can get you across that finish line (literally😂)🏁

Massive congrats Nick — now maybe… just maybe… take a rest 🤝

✅ Answer: Baxter’s Nerve Irritation

Also known as medial calcaneal nerve entrapment, this condition is often mistaken for plantar fasciitis.

💡 Key clue: Nerve-related symptoms + lack of classic morning stiffness!

Lateral Elbow Pain (Tennis Elbow)? 🎾

Struggling with pain on the outside of your elbow? You’re not alone — it’s a common issue, especially with repetitive gripping or lifting.

Try these simple exercises 👇
Start light and build up gradually as your symptoms allow.

✔️ Wrist extension (eccentric and concentric focus)
✔️ loading the forearm muscles

Consistency is key 🔑 — little and often works best.

⚠️ Mild discomfort is okay, but avoid sharp or worsening pain.

If symptoms aren’t improving, it might be time to get it assessed.
