We hire mobility scooters, wheelchairs and power chairs and are a registered charity. We enable anyone with a mobility problem or impairment, whether temporary injury or recovery or permanent disability, to gain access to all shopping, health, tourist and leisure attractions that Canterbury, Herne Bay, Whitstable and surrounding areas have to offer. You can hire the appliance you need for as little as half a day, several days, weeks or a month or more.

We do not have a membership or joining fee and there is no deposit scheme, but there is a small donation charge for the hire of the equipment and we offer first 3 hours free parking or longer subsidised parking in the city centre Whitefriars multi storey car park.
We are located in the centre of Canterbury and local attractions within a short trip include Canterbury Cathedral, Whitefriars Shopping, The Marlowe Theatre, Dane John Gardens, Westgate towers, Westgate Gardens and much more. Slightly further afield are Howletts Zoo, Wealden Wildlife Park, Whitstable Harbour Market, Tankerton Slopes & Herne Bay seafront with its pier & amusements and a long esplanade from Hampton to Reculver Towers. We are also happy to assist students & lecturers attending Christchurch or Kent University or those visiting the area for church related and ecclesiastical purposes longer term disabled hire facilities.

By Car - Enter the Whitefriars multi storey car park and follow the overhead signs that say ‘Shopmobility’ to level 2 and park in out dedicated spaces outside the office.
On foot - From the city centre head to Whitefriars and use the lift entrance to the car park nearest to Boots and Next.
Public transport - From the bus station enter the car park by Boots and take the lift to level 2. Exit into the car park and turn immediately left and left again to our offices. From Canterbury East railway station go through the Dane John Gardens to the bus station and follow the directions above.
We also have the services of several loacal adapted vehicle taxi drivers who can deliver your chosen appliance to your home, workplace, hotel or caravan park (fee payable)
From Marks & Spenser 1st floor exit via the childrens clothing area and turn right up a few steps to the lifts. find us on level 2 at the opposite end of the car park.
Wheelchair, Electric Scooters and Powered Wheelchairs by the hour, day, week or monthly. Call for rates. Wheelchair hire starts at £4 for 3 hours. Depending on the type of appliance typically £7 for a day, or contact us for long term weekly and monthly hire rates
We have recently started to offer some secondhand mobility equipment for sale and often have a selection of crutches, walking sticks, walking frames, and other genrously donated items. Call us if you are looking for something or wish to make an equipment donation.
In December 2019 our lovely staff and volunteers started to sell secondhand books. Come in for a browse. They are 50p each or 3 for £1. We would also be pleased to receive your book donations.
Money is short and times are hard, especially for small charity organisations such as ours. If you wish to become a benefactor by donating funds or equipment (we always need good quality scooters and wheelchairs), or by advertising your business in our premises or on our rental equipment we would love to hear from you.
