Pilgrims Hospices is a charity providing specialist palliative care free of charge to people in east Kent. We care for people with illnesses that cannot be cured, including cancer, heart failure, respiratory conditions and neurological diseases. To keep delivering care to those that need it the most, Pilgrims has to raise more than £17 million each year. The majority of this comes from our local


community, so fundraising is crucial to us. If you post a question on our wall, we'll respond as quickly as we can during working hours (Mon-Fri, 9am-5.00pm). If you contact us during evenings or at weekends, we will get back to you as soon as possible when we are back in the office.

Happy Volunteers’ Week! 🎊 ✨

Volunteers have been part of Pilgrims Hospices from our very beginning in 1982. Our first volunteers started at Canterbury hospice, bringing compassion and care to those who needed it. Over the years, so many volunteers have joined the teams to support our three hospices and our east Kent community; the care, compassion and dedication they bring remains the same.

The one thing they’ve always had in common – and still do – is the desire to help and support those who are reaching the end of their life, alongside their families and loved ones. Volunteers from such a rich tapestry of backgrounds and experiences offer the gift of their time, which is perhaps the most precious gift of all.
