Halfway through my day here at Northgate clinic. A lovely mix of Cranio and massage clients

It is always a joy to work with people who see the need for their own self care and give themselves the time for it, it is so important to keep our own cups full.

Well, I haven’t quite finished last month’s book as I got this little book for my birthday from my daughter a couple of weeks ago and it’s taken over as it’s a surprisingly riveting read.
Can’t profess to exactly understand everything it’s about but it’s short enough that hopefully I can finish BoB off 😅

As Craniosacral therapists we ideally need to keep our own systems flowing freely in order to work with our clients in the sensitive way we do.

I usually have a session every 3-4 weeks but because of life had left it longer than usual, but today got re-navigated back to myself by my lovely CS therapist

This was the scene as I drove away, a perfect balance of earth and sky, with me, perfectly balanced, entering it.

I have a big to-be-read pile of books, so starting from this month I’m going to get through them. Some are part read and some, like this one, I haven’t even opened.

Molecules of Emotion keeps cropping up in my life so I’ll start here.

Anyone else read this and if so, what did you think?

🦋💀🦋

My favourite cranial bone, the sphenoid. It’s such a beautiful bone and is often likened to a butterfly or moth with two small wings, two larger wings and the pterygoid plates which hang down like legs.

Located at the centre within the base of the cranium, the sphenoid is the only bone to articulate with every other bone in the cranium as well as many of the facial bones. It also houses the master gland of the endocrine system, the pituitary gland.

The only parts of the sphenoid that emerge to the surface of the skull are the tips of the greater wings which form our temples and it’s here we make contact with the sphenoid during a CST session.

In my own practice, it’s the bone I often make contact with as it’s such a beautiful reflector of what is going on within a persons Craniosacral system

I nearly didn’t put this post up as it’s right on the nose for me. Being visible out here in the wilds of social media feels so difficult and cringy but it lies beside the fact that I really do feel I’m on the right track in life which is wonderful and the energy I chose to focus on 💫

Weekends are traditionally a time to slow down and step aside from our usual pace of life.

If you have the gift of free time this weekend, how will you spend it recharging?

Here is a fantastic image from Justin Wright to give us a few ideas of how to best look after ourselves

With thanks to and for the image and the inspiration 🙏🏻

…is what I’ve been asked a few times now. Always accompanied with the Tommy Cooper hand movement! 👐

So I thought I’d try and capture the essence of the therapy I practise. Not that easy when there are big tomes written on the subject, but here goes, my take on this pretty cool modality

Craniosacral therapy -CST- is what I do and if you’ve never heard of it or had a session then it can seem a bit mysterious from the outside, although it is really beautifully simple

As CST therapists we are trained to feel, with a gentle touch of our hands, for restrictions and tensions a body may be holding. By offering this contact and deep level of attention over different areas of the body - not just the cranium and sacrum area- but literally anywhere it is needed, your body can begin to feel wonderfully held and safe enough to begin to release unwanted physical or emotional tensions.

This release can have a physical quality, as in heat, cold, tingling or twitching or an emotional release such as big sobs or gentle tears. Laughter is a common release too. It’s all good and, as they say, better out than in 😊

The underlying good health all our bodies possess but can’t always access due to these restrictions now has opportunity to begin to flow increasing our overall health and well-being

CST is gentle enough for new born babies and the elderly, perfect for everyone 💫
