An interesting read and good to spread the word.

Lipedema is finally getting the attention it deserves.

We’re grateful to The Guardian and journalist Adrienne Matei for shedding light on this underdiagnosed condition.

Too often misunderstood as obesity or dismissed altogether, Lipedema is a chronic condition that causes pain, disproportionate fat accumulation, and negatively impacts daily function and quality of life. Patients are often left to self-diagnose after years of confusion.

This is why awareness matters. When stories like these are shared, more people can recognize symptoms, seek answers, and feel less alone.

Carl Jung's philosophy is the kind that unsettles you.

Have you ever wondered why you keep finding yourself in the same kinds of situations, even when you've promised yourself it would be different this time?
Or why you can't seem to break certain patterns, no matter how aware you think you are?
Why some reactions feel instant, almost rehearsed… like they were decided long before the moment arrived?
And the harder question…
What if it isn't fate at all?

"Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate."

There's something deeply confronting about that. Because it suggests that a large part of your life isn't being consciously chosen, but quietly shaped beneath the surface.

Not by destiny.
But by what you haven't yet brought into the light.
The unconscious isn't distant or abstract. It's personal. It lives in the beliefs you never questioned, the roles you learned to play, the ways you adapted just to feel safe, seen, or loved. It holds the parts of your story that were never fully processed, only carried.

And because you can't see it, it feels external.
It feels like life happening to you.
So you call it coincidence.
You call it patterns.
You call it "this always happens to me."

But Jung's work invites something deeper, and more honest.
To slow down.
To notice not just what keeps happening, but why it feels so familiar.
To sit with your patterns instead of outrunning them, until they begin to reveal where they come from.

Because awareness transforms everything.
What once felt automatic becomes visible.
What once controlled you begins to loosen.
And what you called fate starts to look more like something you learned… and therefore, something you can unlearn.

This isn't about remaking yourself overnight.
It's about seeing yourself clearly enough that your life is no longer being written in places you refuse to look.

Because once you do…
even gently, even imperfectly…
you stop living on autopilot,
and start choosing, with your eyes open.

An interesting news article and thankfully a positive outcome. Trichotillomania tends to be a subconscious self soothing habit: something you wouldn’t do with conscious awareness. This is why Hypnotherapy can be an effective tool in overcoming the distressing pattern.

If you're feeling a bit sad this Christmas, I need to tell you something... 👇🏾

Several years ago I was working in a call centre in Manchester on Christmas Day for a company called LateRooms - booking strangers into hotels while they travelled to see their families.

My shift ended at 10pm. I walked home to my room in Moss Side, Manchester, knowing that I was back in the call centre early tomorrow, and I spent the night feeling really sorry for myself about the reality of my life...

I made the mistake of opening Instagram.

Everyone's perfect Christmas. The matching pyjamas. The table with fifteen people round it. The feast. The boyfriend surprising his girlfriend with the Pandora bracelet. Kids losing their minds over presents.

I stirred powdered oats into lukewarm water for Christmas dinner (see the actual picture below). My brother Jason Bartlett had given me a bag of it months earlier "for emergencies."

The loneliness was palpable.

A decade later, that night in Moss Side feels like a completely different life now.

Not because it made me stronger or any of that motivational stuff, but because it made me understand something I've never forgotten in my hardest times:

Life happens in seasons.

Within a year my life was different, within 2 years completely different again, within a few more years I was living in a different country, in love with a wonderful woman, surrounded by 10+ family members on Christmas Day, nieces and nephews and living a life that I feel deeply grateful to live.

Life can change so quickly!!!! Even within a year things can look unrecognisably different.

One day - and it could be next Christmas, could be in five years - you'll be somewhere completely different, surrounded by people you haven't even met yet, living a life you can't imagine right now, and you'll think about the Christmas you spent feeling lonely, unhappy or unfortunate and you'll be weirdly grateful for it... because it taught you you about seasons, and that winter comes before summer.

Merry Christmas 🎄❤️

Sending my love to you and your loved ones and thank you for a beautiful year!

Re-set Sunday! Keep the summer mood going

Happiness isn’t always about what’s happening around you — a lot of it depends on what’s happening inside you. Our brain produces “happy hormones” that influence how we feel, and the beautiful part is… we can boost them naturally with simple daily actions. 🌿

🌟 1. Dopamine – The Reward Chemical
This is what gives you a sense of achievement and motivation.
✅ Eat nourishing food
✅ Complete tasks, even small ones
✅ Celebrate little wins
✅ Practice self-care
👉 Every time you finish something you set out to do, your brain rewards you with dopamine. That’s why ticking off even a small task can instantly lift your mood.

🌟 2. Oxytocin – The Love Hormone
This is the chemical of connection, trust, and belonging.
✅ Spend quality time with loved ones
✅ Physical touch like hugs or holding hands
✅ Pet your dog, cat, or any animal
✅ Practice kindness and help others
👉 Oxytocin is the hormone that reminds us: we are not meant to go through life alone.

🌟 3. Endorphins – The Natural Painkillers
These block stress and reduce pain, giving you feelings of joy.
✅ Move your body — exercise, dance, stretch
✅ Listen to uplifting music
✅ Watch a good movie or comedy
✅ Laugh often, even at yourself
👉 Endorphins prove that sometimes, laughter and movement truly are the best medicine.

🌟 4. Serotonin – The Mood Stabilizer
This one brings calm, balance, and long-term happiness.
✅ Get sunlight daily
✅ Spend time in nature
✅ Practice mindfulness and meditation
✅ Be present in the moment
👉 Serotonin is like the gentle wave of peace reminding you that happiness is found in slowing down and breathing deeply.

💡 The takeaway:
You don’t always need to chase material things to feel happy. True happiness is already inside you — in your habits, in your presence, in how you treat yourself and others.

🌸 Hack your hormones. Hack your happiness. 🌸
