If you’re new to Pilates, feeling a bit stiff, or just want a gentle way to move more comfortably, this 6‑week class is a lovely place to start. We’ll focus on easing back tension, improving strength, and helping you feel more confident in your body — all at a calm, steady pace.

I’m running a special Healthy Backs Pilates taster class on Monday 18th May, perfect if you’d like to try a gentle, supportive approach to easing back stiffness and moving with more confidence.

This class follows Back4Good® principles from Body Control Pilates — ideal for beginners, anyone with back ni**les, or those wanting to feel more comfortable in everyday movement.

I am pleased to be offering a new class using the Back4Good programme that has been developed to help those with low back pain by using tailored Pilates-based exercises that are safe and effective.

The healthy backs class is an effective way to strengthen your back or to prevent back pain. The classes will give you a gentle, balanced workout with the focus on strengthening the core abdominals that do so much for your posture and for supporting your back. Class sizes are small so you get maximum attention and support.

Something I’ve Realised…

I’ve been teaching Pilates for over 10 years and something I’ve noticed from the very beginning is this:

the people who find their way into my classes are usually carrying a little something in their bodies.
A ni**le.
An ache.
A stiff shoulder, a grumbly hip, a knee that’s not as forgiving as it used to be.
Or simply the realisation that aging is happening, and movement suddenly feels more essential than ever.

These are the people who walk through my door.
And they are the ones who stay.

I’ve never been the teacher who attracts clients chasing aesthetics or quick fixes — and that’s absolutely fine. There are plenty of spaces for that.

My classes have always been a home for people who want something different:

✨ to feel safe in their bodies
✨ to move without fear
✨ to rebuild confidence after injury
✨ to stay mobile and independent as they age
✨ to understand their bodies rather than fight them

Which is why I’m so proud to now be a Back4Good® Practitioner, qualified to teach classes specifically designed for people with Low Back Pain.

In many ways, it feels like the natural next step. I’ve been supporting people with back issues for years — now I get to do it with even more depth, structure, and evidence‑based guidance.

Hi everyone, I hope you’re well. It’s been a while since I’ve posted, and a lot has changed over the last 18 months. I moved from Yorkshire to South Wales, settled into a new routine, and I’m now working as a rehabilitation coach in the NHS during the day.
I’ve also been teaching a lovely Monday evening Pilates class in Llandaff, which has been a joy to teach.
Now that life feels a bit more settled, I wanted to come back on here, say hello to both old customers and new ones, and start sharing a little more again. It’s lovely to be back.

This week is my last week in the studio 🥺 from Friday 11th October we will close the doors to the gorgeous space that we opened throughout the pandemic.
I was looking back over photos and the oldest photos of all the work that was done on this room, I just felt I had to post these. Friends and family helped me to renovate the space at New Devonshire House and there has been many people in here bringing the space to life since then. many movement teachers and therapists using the room to offer classes and workshops in what they do best and so many people coming in for some self care time.
I am not sure who will take on this space going forward I just hope it is loved as much as it has been over the years by many people attending the studio.

As I close the studio and close this chapter of my career I can honestly say I feel extremely privileged to working in a job (if that’s what you can call it!) doing what I do. I have been teaching Pilates for almost 10 years and Yoga over the last 3. Throughout that time I have met so many wonderful people who have challenged me and helped me grow as a movement teacher.
I will be taking a break from my usual class setting and embarking a new job with the NHS as a rehabilitation coach and a new life in Cardiff with my partner.
I’m taking a break from teaching temporarily in my usual field but I have no intention of leaving Pilates and yoga behind for good.

Thank you to each and everyone of my customers over the years, I’m going to miss you a lot!
There’s not enough words and space on this post to show how grateful I am for everyone who I have worked alongside in some way.

For anyone looking for Pilates classes going forward I highly recommend my fellow Body Control Pilates teachers.

Today was to our 3rd movement and mindset retreat day! It was yet again another great success 😊
Thank you to all of you that joined us and contributed towards making today so special. There were faces old and new but it was like you’d all met before, you brought such a warming vibe to the room!

Due to some recent changes I now have the availability to invite another Pilates or Yoga teacher in to rent the space.
This is primarily for Mondays. The space is currently free all day and evening on a Monday. In an ideal world I would love to be able to offer this space as a full day rental rather than by the hour, but of course I am open to other options too.
