We want to say a huge diolch yn fawr iawn to Wales & West Housing Group for providing funding to Gig Buddies Cymru over the next 3 years.

Our project in Cardiff has received £30,000 of funding from Wales and West Housing. This will help us to match many more adults with a learning disability in Cardiff with a gig buddy volunteer who shares the same hobbies and interests.

We’re proud to be supporting Mencap Cymru and Learning Disability Wales as our 2026 Board charities.

They will receive £10,000 each from us over the next three years - and their first pot of funding has already been earmarked for two great projects which will help to improve the lives of people with learning disabilities in Wales.

Mencap Cymru will use the funds to develop a new sensory room at Bryn Siriol, a respite service in Aberystwyth.

For Learning Disability Wales, money will go towards supporting its Gig Buddies Cymru scheme in Cardiff.

Gig Buddies North Wales had a blast at Wrexfest over the weekend 🌞
🎶 We watched and listened to bands and musicians singing and playing some amazing music from a wide variety of genres
😃…and we had a wonderful time enjoying the good vibes of Wrexfest - we can’t wait to come back next year!

Gig buddies are all set up at the cohesion cup with Safer Neath Port Talbot , come and play our toilet roll game and answer the question 'what would you do if you couldn't poo?'

Helping us raise awareness about accessible toilets at social events!

Today buddies from Swansea and NPT had a relaxing day at Gnoll Park. Emma led the afternoon with some nature themed activities, we took a walk to the ruins, enjoyed a picnic and laughed under the shade of the trees. Quite a different vibe for us (usually a late and loud night!) but everyone enjoyed a more chilled day.

Lovely to have family and friends come along too - Gig buddies is all about connections!
