Ever wondered what it takes to help deliver some of DHCW's biggest digital change programmes?

In our latest Meet Me at Three, we're catching up with Heather Porch, Principal Project Manager for the Cloud Transition Programme. Heather shares what a typical day looks like, her journey from the NHS Wales Graduate Management Programme into DHCW, and why the people and culture keep her inspired every day.

From working with stakeholders across the organisation to helping drive large-scale technical change, Heather's story offers a great insight into one of the many roles helping shape digital health and care in Wales.

Watch now and get to know the people behind the work.

Digital services are becoming embedded in how people access, experience and deliver care across Wales, and these figures show the impact of that progress.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us at the National Eisteddfod today for our panel discussion on How digital is changing the NHS in Wales.

A special thank you to Ifan Evans, Director of Digital Strategy at DHCW for chairing, Elin Wyn who chairs the board of Mwy Na Geiriau, Mark Jones who specialises in AI at WG, and Marian Wyn Jones who's on the Board of DHCW, for sharing their expertise and perspectives on the opportunities and challenges of digital transformation in healthcare.

From the potential of AI and the Single Patient Record to electronic prescribing, patient empowerment and the importance of building public trust, it was a thought-provoking conversation about the future of health and care in Wales. We also highlighted the importance of ensuring digital services remain inclusive, with the Welsh language at their heart.

Thank you to everyone in the audience for your thoughtful questions and contributions—they made for a fantastic discussion.

🎉Congratulations to the team at Hywel Dda Health Board, who have successfully gone live with electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration (ePMA) on Ward 9, the stroke rehabilitation ward at Prince Philip Hospital, Llanelli.

As the first ward in the health board to implement the new system, this marks the beginning of Hywel Dda’s transition from paper-based medicines management to a safer, more efficient digital approach.

The move to ePMA will deliver significant benefits for both patients and staff, including:

• Safer and more accurate prescribing
• Improved communication between healthcare professionals
• Reduced administrative burden
• More time for clinicians to focus on patient care

As part of the national Digital Medicines Programme managed by DHCW, the rollout will continue across Hywel Dda, supporting wider digital transformation efforts that are enhancing patient care and treatment across Wales.

👏 This achievement is the result of extensive collaboration across clinical, pharmacy, nursing, digital and operational teams. A huge thank you to everyone involved in making this first go-live a success.
