Are you from a community that is often underserved in research?

The Centre for Trials Research (CTR) is looking for a member of the public to join its Inclusivity Group.
This is a chance to help make health and social care research more welcoming, easier to access, and more relevant to a wider variety of communities. Their aim is to make sure that research better reflects the needs and experiences of different groups of people.

The group especially encourages people from communities that are often underserved, such as:
• Ethnic minorities
• People with disabilities
• Individuals from different economic backgrounds
• LGBTQAI+ communities
Meetings are held online, approximately once every two months, and last about an hour.

The deadline to apply is 12:00 on 4 September 2026.

Welsh Ambulance Services University NHS Trust would like to speak with you to help improve understanding of how people experience and access emergency mental health services during a mental health crisis.

Your experiences will help shape research that aims to improve services and ensure they meet the needs of those who use them.

What's involved?

Lauren Conway was diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in her early twenties after years of struggling with anxiety, depression and an eating disorder.

She believes that earlier recognition could have transformed her education, mental health and wellbeing.

Lauren's experience reflects findings from research led by Dr Joanna Martin.

The research highlights how girls and young women with ADHD are often overlooked because symptoms can be less visible, masked or mistaken for other conditions.

The findings underline the importance of recognising ADHD earlier so girls and young women can receive the right support at the right time.

Do you experience heartburn, indigestion, or acid reflux?

Heartburn Health is open in Wales and looking for volunteers aged 55-79 to help research into these symptoms, which affect 25% of adults in the UK.

If you live in Wales and have these symptoms, you can sign up by visiting www.heartburnhealth.org or look out for your text message from NHS Wales with your invitation to take part.

Heartburn Health aims to speed up research into solutions for people with heartburn, indigestion, and acid reflux.

Heartburn Health is a research programme taking place across Wales, looking for people who experience heartburn, acid reflux or indigestion.

Men aged 55-79 and women aged 65-79 are encouraged to take part.

Eligible people can sign up through the link in the NHS Wales text message they may receive, or they can visit www.heartburnhealth.org to join.
