Gather your flock for a special cinema night in Ambleside to support Jigsaw, Cumbria's only children's hospice! 🎥

Join us for a screening of the brand-new Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom, all to support children and young adults with complex medical conditions and their families across Cumbria. 🧡

📍 Where? Zeffirellis and Fellinis Cinema , Ambleside
⏰️ When? 23rd October, 4:30pm

Come dressed in your best Shaun the Sheep-inspired outfit and you'll be entered into our fancy dress competition, with cinema tickets to Zeffirellis up for grabs! 🐑

Tickets are £9 for adults, with children under 12 £8 - your tickets will do more than give you entry. The funds raised will give children and young adults independence, cherished memories, time to rest and recharge, and support like nowhere else in Cumbria.

Alfie was a much-loved little boy who lived with multiple disabilities and, according to his family, was "the strongest, bravest and cheekiest little boy." He was cared for by his devoted parents, Richard and Chantelle, and brought joy to everyone who knew him. Jigsaw, Cumbria's Children's Hospice supported Alfie and his family during the last year of his life, providing precious periods of respite, care and support when it was needed most.

The family's fundraising efforts began last year when a remarkable £1,935 was donated in Alfie's memory at his funeral.

His grandad, Tim, was determined to honour his memory and raise further funds, and decided to take on the gruelling Peak District Ultra challenge. The 100km/62mile challenge took place in Bakewell in early July, and the family felt it was a way to say thank you for the care they received.

Every mile completed and every pound raised is a beautiful tribute to Alfie and a reflection of the love surrounding him.

Everyone at Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw would like to say a heartfelt thank you to Tim for taking on the epic challenge which raised an incredible £4,499!

Richard and Chantelle played a huge role, helping with fundraising in their local community of Appleby and cheering him on throughout the challenge. Their dedication and encouragement helped make this achievement possible.

The family's kindness and generosity have been remarkable. 👏

To Tim, Richard, Chantelle, and everyone who donated, supported and cheered along the way, thank you. By sharing Alfie's legacy, you are helping create comfort, support and precious moments for other families across Cumbria. 🧡🩵

This is a room full of people who know they're about to set off around Europe in less than a month... but they still don't know where they're going! 😯

Last night, we brought together the teams taking part in this year's Race Across Europe! 🏃‍♂️🌍️

Excitement (and a few nerves!) filled the room as participants got the chance to meet their fellow racers and find out a little more about the challenge ahead.

Of course, we couldn't give too much away. The destinations remain a closely guarded secret, and that's all part of the adventure! No flights or phones are allowed on this challenge; simply a map, a tracker and a budget - this is our take on BBC's Race Across the World! ⭐

In less than a month's time, these incredible teams will set off on an unforgettable journey, navigating their way across Europe while raising vital funds to provide care, comfort and compassion to local people with life-limiting conditions and their families. 🩵

Glow Trail is almost here, and we're still looking for a few more volunteer route marshals to help make this year's event a fantastic experience for everyone taking part.

If you wanted to join the Glow Trail but missed the registration deadline, this is a great way to still be part of the magic. As a route marshal, you'll cheer participants on, help guide them along the route and play an important role in making the evening safe, fun and unforgettable.
