Last week, we highlighted the care and support children's hospice's bring to children with life-limiting conditions and their families.

One of the highlights of the week was seeing Suzanne and Kate proudly representing Jigsaw in London. While they were there, they sent a postcard back to the hospice - it was a lovely reminder that we're all coming together to raise awareness and champion the vital role of children's hospices.

At the heart of the week were the incredible families who shared their stories. Their voices shine a light on what children's hospice care really means - support at the toughest times, and moments of comfort and joy when it's needed most.

Thank you to everyone who shared their stories so openly and helped us show what children's hospice care is really about.

And despite the vital role hospices play, funding hasn't kept pace. For every Β£1 of funding from the state, children's hospices now provide nearly Β£4 in care - made possible by the generosity of communities like ours.

That's why children's hospice's need fair funding to keep providing it.

may be over for another year, but the support, care and comfort continues - every single day 🧑

Thank you for being part of it with us!

A morning to remember 🧑

Last Sunday, on the summer solstice, the longest day of the year, our fabulous fundraisers set off in the early hours of the morning under the stars to reach the top of Skiddaw in time to witness the most breath-taking sunrise.

It was a clear night, and we experienced the most magical morning watching the sunrise above the Lake District. We then descended via Jenkin Hill path back to Keswick for a warm and well-deserved breakfast! 🍳πŸ₯β˜•

Thank you so much to everyone who took part in Stars to Sunrise this weekend. You did it! πŸ‘

Here are some special moments from the weekends adventure, and thanks to the incredible guidance by the Lakeland Mountain Guides once again!

We will follow with an update shortly on just how much has been raised for local families. 🌟

It was an absolute pleasure to welcome Franchesca, Zoe and Emily to Jigsaw as part of their incredible UK Peaks Challenge for Together for Short Lives during

After starting at Slieve Donard in Northern Ireland, they then took their challenge to Scotland and climbed Ben Nevis, travelling to the Lake District to climb Scafell, and finishing with Snowdon in Wales.πŸ‘

We were so pleased to welcome them to Jigsaw along the way - and the children created a special thank you card to show them how much it means to us. 🧑

Together, we are highlighting why children's hospices are so vital for families caring for seriously ill children, who face a different kind of exhaustion every single day - sleepless nights, endless appointments, the emotional strain, and the uncertainty that never really stops.

Children’s hospices are there to support families through it all - offering expert care, time to rest, moments to breathe, and helping families to focus on being with their child in the hardest of times.

Thank you Franchesca, Emily and Zoe for taking on this challenge for Children's Hospice Week and to help raise awareness of children's hospice care.

"Without Jigsaw being here, I don't know what life would look like for us." - Danielle, Myles' mum

After Myles turned two, he was diagnosed with stage 4 high risk neuroblastoma, a rare form of childhood cancer.

When people picture children's hospice care, they might not think of music, laughter, days out, family time, and making new memories. 🧑

Danielle, Myles' mum, shares how when she first thought of Jigsaw, she associated it with end-of-life care. But what she discovered was so much more - "I feel like nothing is too much to ask for, from the moment you walk through the door everyone is so smiley, it feels really homely."

For Myles, Jigsaw is a place where he can be himself, somewhere he now fondly calls "the nurses' house" 🧑 after spending so much time around hospitals, at Jigsaw he has the space to play, laugh, and create happy memories alongside the care he needs.

For his family, that support means everything. With your support, we can be there for more families when they need us most.
