Summer Holiday Piercings: Everything You Need to Know! ☀️
With the school holidays fast approaching, we know many of your children are desperate to get their new piercings! Summer is the perfect time to heal before heading back to the classroom, but to ensure everything goes smoothly, here is a quick guide on what you need to know before you visit us.
📅 Book in Advance
Summer is our absolute busiest time of year! We highly recommend booking your slot early to avoid disappointment. We would hate to have to turn you away because we are fully booked.
🪪 Parental Attendance & ID
Ages 6 to 15: A parent or legal guardian must be present for the appointment to sign consent forms.
Ages 16+: Valid photo ID is required for all independent clients
👥 Keep Groups to a Minimum
Please only bring the person getting pierced (plus one parent/guardian if required). While we love a family outing, our reception area fills up incredibly fast with our tattoo clients, pushchairs, and children. Keeping extra guests to a minimum ensures a calm, safe environment for everyone.
🏊♂️ Healing Time vs. Summer Holidays
If you are planning a getaway, timing is everything! Fresh piercings cannot be submerged in swimming pools, the sea, or hot tubs for at least 4 to 6 weeks to prevent serious infections. If you have a holiday booked soon, it may be best to schedule the piercing for the day you return so it has the rest of the summer to heal.
⚽ Healing Time vs. School PE Lessons
Keep school rules in mind! Most schools do not allow jewellery during PE lessons and sports, and taping up a fresh piercing is often not allowed or ineffective.
Lobe piercings take about 6–8 weeks to heal enough to change or temporarily remove.
Cartilage piercings can take 6–12 months.
Getting them done right at the start of the summer gives them the best possible head start before September!
