CORONA SAFETY AT THE CLINIC UPDATE. A high temperature and/or dry cough are the most common early symptoms of covid-19 Upon arrival at the clinic , your temperature will be taken in the waiting room using a hospital grade thermometer with “disposable use once “ probe covers . I will wear a mask for this check. This is in addition to our strict and thorough cleaning between each patient , including couch and face hole ( yes, this is stressful, and hard work, but your safety comes first ) Medical grade hand gel is mandatory upon entry, and exit from the clinic. My own temperature is checked twice daily, and extra rigid hand hygiene is also carried out before and after each patient . You can trust we are doing everything to ensure a safe visit for you . The government have declared it ok to attend medical appointments, so please travel safely and avoid if you have a dry cough or known fever.

CORONA AND HOMOEOPATHIC MEDICINE
interesting to see the Indian government has recommended homoeopathic arsenicum album 30 as a prophylactic against clovid 19.
In the homoeopathic world, this makes sense as the symptoms match corona virus .
I’m a great lover of homoeopathic remedies in subcutaneous injection form , as averse to pill form, which I find quite hit and miss .
I get great results with injectable arnica ( injuries ) ,nux vomica ( morning sickness and general vomiting ) and “vertigoheel”,that thwarts attacks of labyrinthitis amazingly .
Now don’t misunderstand me, I’m NOT saying this will work, or encouraging use of it in any way .
The medical community generally hate homoeopathic medicine, as it can only be tested in double blind trials , and cannot be clinically tested due to its mode of working . Furthermore, most trials are done with pills, which , from my experience, are generally not of much use, injectables being way superior in results.
Therefore the medical world/drug companies are going mad viz this approach in their usual way of blanket condemnation.
I have decided to use the injections on myself , as to me this makes sense. However, no one medicine cures all, and there is no hard evidence it will work .
But it cannot harm, so certainly worth a try, and as I said earlier, it matches the symptoms. Let’s see.....

Most importantly , this is also to be used with a super huge usage of hygiene practices eg hand washing and disinfection.

Shockwave therapy unit getting some amazing results on older injuries/ pains that have not responded to other treatments!
It really is the big daddy!
Other Clinics are usually charging £90-250 per session
However I’m charging £35 😊
The reason why, is a grateful patient bought it for me from money his mother had left him to do good for other people, so I feel this is a fitting tribute to her wishes by making it affordable .

ITS HERE!
The eagerly awaited shockwave therapy unit.
These are amazing for pains and injuries that have not responded to past treatment, or long term Musculoskeletal issues .
My patients are already getting the benefit of this amazing machine

Shockwave therapy is a non-invasive treatment that involves creating a series of low energy acoustic wave pulsations that are directly applied to an injury through a person’s skin via a gel medium. The concept and technology originally evolved from the discovery that focused sound waves were capable of breaking down kidney and gallstones. Generated shockwaves have proven successful in a number of scientific studies for the treatment of chronic conditions. Shockwave therapy is its own treatment for a lingering injury, or pain resulting from illness. You don’t need painkillers with it - the purpose of the therapy is to trigger the body’s own natural healing response. Many people report that their pain is reduced and mobility improved after the first treatment.

How does shockwave therapy work?

Shockwave therapy is a modality that is becoming more common in physiotherapy. Using a much lower energy than in medical applications, shockwave therapy, or extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT), is used in the treatment of many musculoskeletal conditions, primarily those involving connective tissues such as ligaments and tendons.

Shockwave therapy offers physiotherapists another tool for stubborn, chronic tendinopathy. There are some tendon conditions that just don't seem to respond to traditional forms of treatment, and having the option of shockwave therapy treatment allows physiotherapist another tool in their arsenal. Shockwave therapy is most suited for people who have chronic (ie greater than six weeks) tendinopathies (commonly referred to as tendinitis) which haven't responded to other treatment; these include: tennis elbow, achilles, rotator cuff, plantar fasciitis, jumpers knee, calcific tendinitis of the shoulder. These could be as a result of sport, overuse, or repetitive strain.

The strange story of how my career in physical therapies started

1978.... I had just left school and dreamt of a career in photography.
Literally , the day I left school , I went to Reed employment agency in Morden , and they found me a job as an on -foot courier at a photographic company in Argyll st, a few doors away from the London palladium .
The idea was that I would progress to photographers assistant and learn the profession.
I was a few days into my new job , learning the routes from old Bill, an 80+ year old man who taught me all the short cuts through London’s soho and around oxford st, delivering urgent packages to media companies etc .
Around this time, my Nan had died from cancer , and I’d seen her die in her house next door to mine .
I had also seen how brutal cancer medicine was at that time in history, and was questioning its monopoly in health care .
Then a strange thing happened, that I still can’t explain to this day .
I was walking to a delivery round the back of carnaby street , and for some unknown reason I was literally drawn to walk into cranks health food shop, and to the book section, where I picked up this little book on ginseng , something I had never heard of !
I spent £1 on the book , from my £11 take home pay , which also paid for my train fare .
I had never been into a health food shop in my life , and here I was unable to resist buying this book on a subject I had never heard of ?!
I read the book, which spoke of herbal medicine as a whole, and natural therapies.
I originally wanted to study herbal medicine, a four year course , but did not have the A levels to get in .
I figured that if I did a soft tissue massage course, it may help me get in , and bought here’s health magazine , where I found an advert for a course based in carshalton .
It was run by the guy who owned the Andrew still College of Osteopathy, and he took me under his wing .
I fibbed and said I had 4 A levels , and was soon enrolled in the Osteopathic course, as well as working alongside my amazing mentor.
I got straight A,s all the way through the 4 years , and after studying a whole host of other therapies, here I am , having been a teacher too .
Would I swap this work for anything else ? NEVER!!!!!
And I still have that little book !
