"September is so full-on!!!!"

Anyone else’s conversational theme over the last couple of weeks? I’ve probably had around 30 conversations in this vein!

Busy parents with the back-to-school routine, professionals facing changes in work demands, people caring for others, and people who feel like they need a holiday after the holiday!

Whoever it is, this desperate need to hit PAUSE seems to be echoed far and wide—at my groups, at the school gates, and at the business events I’ve been speaking at and attending.

One of the reasons I started The Presence Effect was to give myself space to reset on a regular basis—and to offer that space to others too. Stepping out of the relentless mental chatter (which is often so focused on the next thing on the to-do list) feels even more important at this time of year, when many of us are catching up, planning, and stepping into a slightly new chapter.

Next Saturday (20th) could be your September PAUSE Day!

I’m teaming up with yoga teacher Danya Cole Sancta Studio in Otley to offer an Autumn Retreat. It couldn’t come at a better time for me—a whole day of relaxation on the yoga mat and with my voice!

I’ll be leading a Release & Rejuvenate vocal session during the day, with original compositions to help connect people to the natural “letting go” impulse that Autumn calls us toward.

An invite for those who want a nourishing journey of music and energy healing to start their week this coming Monday! 6-7.30pm at Shine Workspace (Leeds)

Come and join us as we raise our voices to create a shared, resonant sound that connects, heals, and uplifts.

Ella Norman from the The Pink School will be channeling uplifting and empowering energy healing for the group whilst I lead us in original songs purposefully composed to work alongside the energy healing that will ground us in the earth and open our hearts.

This is a gentle, inclusive session designed to be grounding, uplifting, and supportive of emotional wellbeing. The session involves live music, simple guided movement (with seated or standing options), group humming or vocalising (no singing experience needed), and a short uplifting meditation.

There is no requirement to move, sing, or speak—you are welcome to simply be present and participate in your own way. The atmosphere will be warm, calm, and non-judgemental.

Dreams are born when others say ‘go for it!’

To be believed in, is to have other people cheer you on so loudly that it knocks down all the limiting beliefs and fears that stop you from living your dreams.

I truly wish for everyone to have an army of cheerleaders. There are so many dreams of a better way of being and doing the way we live.

These dreams are just under the surface for so many, if you hear one sneak out of you or another person, get those POM POMS ready!!!

The Presence Effect Choir (which was off the scale amazing) was birthed because others believed… there is only WE started a choir here!

So here is the thank you to The Cheerleading Extraordinaires who started a choir;

- 17 open hearted singers on our first session; wide eyed, tingling with the energy of their voices and high on singing endorphins 
- Miranda Arieh in my passenger seat, embodying the spirit of a thousand cheerleaders
- Helen Charlton EncourageMINT card through the post 
- Hannah Ferreira-Clark joyful shout across the Park: "You're beautiful!" as she captured countless moments
- Lisa Shepherd at the conception- "Please; I miss singing in a group" along with her inspiring speech on growing the The Biskery (Thank you biscuit was amazing BTW) 
- Dawn O'Keefe's enthusiastic endorsement: "A choir at Shine? Great!" and all the work she does to support female entrepreneurs on the program.
- Jen Pugh walking through bluebells helping envision a yoga-presence singing fusion.

Every time I get a notification to say another ticket is sold I do a little dance in my heart... only 2 weeks to go!

The vision for The Presence Effect Choir has been growing for 7 years through the season of my life where I have faced many challenges- navigating parenting, loss and burnout to name a few!

During this time I was pushed to my own edges again and again and the practice of coming into the moment with acceptance and compassion completely transformed the way I could handle what was in front of me and has subsequently changed the way I see myself, others and the world around me!

… and it’s now time to share all this possibility through the joy of singing!

The 2nd of June (choir’s start date) is now so close that I can feel the endorphins bubbling under the surface getting ready to explode when we start singing together-the healthy natural high is so contagious it leaves you wanting MORE MORE MORE!

7 years of dreaming The Presence Effect into existence- through delving deeply into my own practice of presence and finding the deep joy of living this way. I now emerge with a strong vision and purpose that weaves together all facets of my skills; coaching, voice work and singing leading and offers people guidance on finding the joy of living in presence themselves

Presence means living fully in the moment. It is available to anyone, at any time. When the mind slows down and quietens, a deep peace, joy, and a strong sense of connection and aliveness arise.
