It's a wrap! I've just taught my last summer yoga session with Mendip Activity Centre for their mini-fest weekends. And I have truly loved it.

We've also delivered two jam-packed nature craft sessions, with the help of our wonderful children, and a guided nature walk and scavenger hunt with tea tasting.

We say a fond farewell to the season of sun, high-energy and long, light-filled days, and look ahead to welcoming Autumn, ๐Ÿwhere we'll be cooling off, slowing down and enjoying nature with wildlife and all the fungi that so love the rain! ๐Ÿ„

I barely got any photos as we were so busy during our Mendip sessions, so I'll leave you with a few of our life lately, which, as always, involves nature and family connection at the heart of all we do.

Yoga is resuming at the Winscombe Community Centre in September, and there are spaces in both classes.

Wednesday, 6:15-7:30pm - Beginners and Beyond
Suited to those who'd love to try yoga, or are seeking a gentle class.

Wednesday, 7:45-9pm - Dynamic Slow Flow
A more dynamic, yet slow flow class for those with previous yoga practice.

Both classes are based on vinyasa flow, with a little qi-gong infused throughout, and include breathing techniques and space for relaxation - and a fab music playlist!

Please email me for more information or to book.

My super yummy summer breakfast combines the magical cacao - one of the foods with the highest amount of antioxidants - with coconut oil, banana, a little honey, dates, avocado, almond milk + chia seeds and hazelnuts.

It is a take on the chia seed pudding. Only much tastier and with lots of added goodness. Everything is added with nutrients in mind.

The finishing touch is the topping - desiccated coconut, h**p seeds, frozen berries, almonds and a sprinkling of jumbo oats.

Best when enjoyed outside in your favourite sit spot. ๐Ÿ’š

I had a lovely encounter with this young fox - before this video, I stood still looking at him or her, and the fox lay down! Then continued to eat some grass. It was magical, and I wondered if my fox earrings had anything to do with it? ๐Ÿ˜†๐ŸฆŠ๐Ÿงก

This post is intended to serve as a motivator for positive change - I am all for joy - such as the joy these foxes bring. And I don't believe for one moment that it is too late - it's never too late to change.

I am sharing this because of how much I love, and have always loved, animals, wildlife and nature.

Even more these days, and for the last several years, immersing myself in nature brings me such immense joy and awe, that I am quite often moved to tears.

My family and I were lucky enough to see badgers emerging from their den recently. We patiently waited for over an hour for this fleeting privilege.

Seeing nature's glory, whether trees in blossom, bees in lavender, butterflies on buddliah, fungi emerging from the earth, the pure bliss of birdsong - it is always splendid to me. One of life's true treasures and I hope never to go more than a day without experiencing it, until the day I die.

It took the song of the blackcap permeating through my window to wake me up from wasting time on the web earlier. I got up, made my breakfast, and went to sit with the sound in the garden.

I hope anyone reading this feels inspired enough to go and sit in the garden or a green space, cherish a tea (or life sustaining water in this heat!), and feel, listen to and notice the wildlife that will nourish your heart, protect your mental health, and give you a big dose of life-affirming awe. ๐Ÿ’š

Rest in peace, sweet Charlie Fox. ๐ŸฆŠ

Another image of Charlie and Hetty.
To see how Hetty is at the loss of Charlie just reinforces how sentient foxes are. I've been lucky enough to share these bonds with Rosie, Charlie and Hetty and it leaves me totally repulsed that some "people" use this knowledge to kill foxes.
So called pest controllers in places like London, know that if they shoot the vixen, the dog fox will come looking for her, so they stake out the vixens body to kill them both.
I really can't understand how when you know how sentient these animals are, you would even consider such a twisted act.
As a species some of us think it's acceptable to kill an animal because it is a nuisance or and inconvenience to us. But none give a thought about what a nuisance or inconvenience we are to the wildlife, the environment, the planet. Yesterday I saw a drone image of the multi billion scar through our countryside that is HS2. If we don't wake up and realise it is us that is the problem and not a fox, a badger or any other animal we wish to blame for the demise of our planet, then it will soon be too late, probably already is.

Delighted to see the first elderflowers blooming. Their scent in June is so uplifting.

We will likely make elderflower cordial / lemonade / champagne and also potentially dry for tea!
