cy, I enrolled in an antenatal class and although I made some wonderful friends, I soon realised I was unprepared for the realities of labour, birth, and early motherhood. My goal is to empower families to step confidently into this next chapter of life, equipped with the knowledge and tools they need—without the midnight Googling!

Join us next time in the beautifully warm pool and take the weight off, quite literally. These sessions are designed to help you unwind, ease aches and pains, and feel lighter in both body and mind.

✨Lighter body, calmer mind
Water supports your bump, easing pressure on your back, hips and joints. A guided meditation helps you switch off and connect with your body and baby.

✨Better sleep and more energy
The combination of warmth, buoyancy and gentle movement helps relax tight muscles, reduce swelling and boost circulation. Leave feeling refreshed, with improved sleep after evening sessions.

✨Perfect if you are considering a water birth
These sessions help you build positive, calming associations with being in warm water, which can be really helpful if you are planning to use a birth pool on the day.

✨A friendly space
Each session is quiet, calm and deeply relaxing, with time to float, breathe and chat. You do not need to be a strong swimmer. The pool is shallow enough to stand and suitable for all stages of pregnancy. It is also a lovely chance to meet other local mums and take some time just for you.

A week on from our final April session and I’m still thinking about this lovely group of soon to be parents 🤍

It was so lovely to receive this message afterwards. One of the best parts of these courses is seeing families go from feeling anxious and a bit daunted by birth and early parenthood to feeling informed, prepared and excited to meet their baby.

I can’t wait to watch these amazing families grow over the next few months.

I wanted to share a little more detail here, because the symptoms of an ectopic pregnancy aren’t always obvious and early diagnosis can make a huge difference in preventing serious complications.

Signs and symptoms to look out for:
• Lower abdominal or pelvic pain, often on one side
• Vaginal bleeding or spotting that doesn’t feel like a normal period
• Shoulder tip pain (this can feel very specific and unusual)
• Dizziness, lightheadedness or feeling faint
• Pain that comes and goes or gradually worsens
• Feeling “not quite right”, even if symptoms seem mild

It’s important to know that:
• Symptoms can start from around 4 weeks pregnant
• Some women have very mild symptoms, or none at all
• These symptoms can look like a miscarriage, UTI or even a stomach bug, so they are easy to dismiss

What to do:
• If something doesn’t feel right, trust your instinct and get checked
• Contact your GP, midwife or local Early Pregnancy Unit
• Call NHS 111 if you’re unsure what to do
• Do not wait and assume it will pass

Seek urgent help (A&E) if you have:
• Severe or worsening abdominal pain
• Shoulder tip pain
• Feeling faint, dizzy or collapsing
• Heavy bleeding

If you’ve experienced an ectopic pregnancy or want more information, support is available through the Ectopic Pregnancy Trust, who offer guidance, resources and a supportive community. 🤍

Two very exciting new additions to the website! ✨

These small but oh so mighty tools help manage contractions in labour.
Hold either the comb or ball in your palm and as a contraction builds, you squeeze.
At the peak, grip it tight.
This stimulates acupressure points in your hand that help reduce anxiety, release endorphins, and gives you a sense of control.
At the same time, your brain can’t fully process two sensations at once so it draws focus away from the intensity of contractions.
