🚨 Having regular cycles doesn't automatically mean you're fertile — and this is one of the most common misconceptions I see.
A regular 28-day cycle tells you that ovulation is likely happening on a predictable schedule. That's a really positive sign — but it's only one piece of a very complex picture.
Here's what a regular cycle doesn't tell you:
🥚 Egg quality — Eggs can be released regularly but still carry chromosomal issues that reduce the chance of successful fertilisation or implantation. Age and oxidative stress are two of the biggest influencing factors.
🔬 S***m health — Fertility is never just one partner's story. S***m motility, morphology, and DNA fragmentation can all affect conception regardless of how regular your cycles are.
⚖️ Hormonal balance — Even with regular cycles, subtle imbalances in oestrogen, progesterone, FSH, LH, thyroid hormones, or insulin can impact the quality of ovulation and the uterine environment.
🔥 Inflammation — Chronic systemic inflammation (often silent) can interfere with implantation and early embryo development.
Fertility is a whole-body, multi-system process. A regular cycle is a great starting point — not a finish line.
If you've been trying to conceive without success, or you simply want to understand your fertility more deeply, this is why a full assessment — not just cycle tracking — matters.
💾 Save this if you're learning more about your fertility journey, and share it with someone who needs to hear this.
