The pregnancy announcement in the group chat. You typed the words. You added the heart emoji. You were the first to respond.

And then you put your phone down, walked away, and fell apart — quietly, privately, where nobody could see.

Nobody talks about the emotional labour of managing other people's joy when you're grieving your own.

If you've been here — this is for you. You don't have to explain it. 🤍

Regular cycles… and still not pregnant?

This is where most women get confused.

Because regular bleeding doesn’t automatically mean optimal ovulation.

Your cycle can look “normal”…

while something underneath isn’t quite working as it should.

If you’ve been trying for 6 months+ with regular cycles and nothing is changing…

that’s usually the point to look deeper.

Regular shows timing.
Not quality.

Secondary infertility can feel confusing and isolating.

You conceived before — so why is it harder now?

Pregnancy, postpartum recovery, lifestyle changes, nutrient depletion, hormone shifts, and stress can all influence fertility after having a child.

Many couples experiencing secondary infertility are told everything looks “normal”.

But fertility involves many interconnected systems in the body.

Looking deeper at cycle health, metabolic health, and lifestyle factors can reveal patterns that standard testing may miss.

🚨 Having regular cycles doesn't automatically mean you're fertile — and this is one of the most common misconceptions I see.

A regular 28-day cycle tells you that ovulation is likely happening on a predictable schedule. That's a really positive sign — but it's only one piece of a very complex picture.

Here's what a regular cycle doesn't tell you:

🥚 Egg quality — Eggs can be released regularly but still carry chromosomal issues that reduce the chance of successful fertilisation or implantation. Age and oxidative stress are two of the biggest influencing factors.

🔬 S***m health — Fertility is never just one partner's story. S***m motility, morphology, and DNA fragmentation can all affect conception regardless of how regular your cycles are.

⚖️ Hormonal balance — Even with regular cycles, subtle imbalances in oestrogen, progesterone, FSH, LH, thyroid hormones, or insulin can impact the quality of ovulation and the uterine environment.

🔥 Inflammation — Chronic systemic inflammation (often silent) can interfere with implantation and early embryo development.

Fertility is a whole-body, multi-system process. A regular cycle is a great starting point — not a finish line.

If you've been trying to conceive without success, or you simply want to understand your fertility more deeply, this is why a full assessment — not just cycle tracking — matters.

“I just want better egg quality… what does that even mean?”

It doesn’t mean a supplement.

It doesn’t mean a quick fix.

And it isn’t determined the month you try to conceive.

Egg quality reflects months of cellular development.

Inflammation.
Metabolic stability.
Hormone balance.
Oxidative stress.

It’s not random.

It’s responsive.

For some, biology aligns without much intervention.

Some pregnancies happen by chance.

Complex cases don’t.

They require preparation.

If pregnancy hasn’t been easy for you, this is where strategy matters.

If you want to understand what preparation looks like in your case, book a Complex Case Review.

““I ovulate every month… so doesn’t that mean my eggs are fine?”

No.

Ovulation tells us an egg was released.

It doesn’t tell us how well that egg developed.

Eggs mature for several months before ovulation.

Which means the egg you release this cycle has been shaped by the environment you’ve been living in for the last 3–4 months.

Inflammation.
Blood sugar stability.
Sleep.
Stress.
Nutrient availability.

Ovulation is the moment.

The preparation before that determines what that moment delivers.

If you’ve been told “your cycles are regular so everything’s fine,” comment OVULATION or message me.

If you want to understand what your last 3 months have actually been building, book a Complex Case Review.”

“Fertility is closely connected to overall health.

Chronic inflammation may influence hormone balance, egg quality, and the reproductive environment.

Supporting metabolic health, reducing inflammatory load, and improving nutrition can be important steps in fertility preparation.

“Fertility is influenced by more than just reproductive organs.

Hormones that regulate ovulation are closely connected to stress hormones like cortisol.

Chronic stress can disrupt hormonal signals that influence ovulation and menstrual cycles.

Supporting your nervous system, sleep, and recovery can play an important role in fertility health.

Two important concepts in fertility are egg quantity and egg quality.

Egg quantity refers to the number of eggs remaining in the ovaries, often assessed through tests like AMH.

Egg quality refers to how well the egg can develop into a healthy embryo.

While age influences both, lifestyle factors can influence the environment eggs develop in and impact the quality of your eggs.

Egg quality is not fixed.
Eggs develop over a 90 - 120 day period so the environment they are in matters.

The nutrients you consume.
Your blood sugar stability.
Inflammation levels.
Hydration.
Stress load.

All of these influence the internal conditions your eggs mature in.

Ultra-processed foods, unstable glucose, and poor nutrient density don’t just affect weight — they affect cellular development.
And egg cells are highly sensitive to their environment.

The good news?
The environment can change.
And when the environment changes for the better, outcomes can improve.
