Carrying on from the Memory Walk on Friday, 28th August, in the afternoon, we enjoyed entertainment in our Drake community from Brian Shaw. With family and friends remaining from the walk in the morning, everyone seemed to really enjoy the afternoon, with singing and dancing.

Although donations are still coming in, we are very happy to say we have so far raised £1,200.00 for the Alzheimer's Society.

Thank you to everyone that came along for today's walk. Wonderful the weather was on our side.

We have some amazing news. Although we are still counting up the wonderful donations received (and still coming through), we just thought it would be a lovely idea to show the so far total:

JustGiving = £555
Donations from today = £185.50
Donations raised from a family member of a resident, which is just incredible = £400

So in total £1,140.50

(Due to GDPR and not being able to obtain consent from all the family members that joined the walk, we are unable to share photographs on Social Media. Photographs will soon be available in the communities.)

Cheers! Residents from Drake are enjoying a trip to the local pub for lunch. Everyone seems to be enjoying their meals, which look very delicious.

During our arts and crafts session, we had a visit from Karen of Felt Sew Crafty, who guided residents in the delightful process of felting, specifically in creating poppies. The residents engaged wonderfully with Karen's instruction on the techniques and colour choices. Once completed, the projects were beautifully framed, allowing the residents to proudly display their creations.

Update on Our Memory Walk 2026 Progress:

We wanted to provide you with an update on the progress of our upcoming Memory Walk on 28th August. We have currently reached 56% of our goal on our JustGiving page, which is over halfway to our target, and we hope to exceed it. We sincerely thank you for your support in making this happen; you are truly amazing.

Banners and bunting will soon be displayed for the event, and please remember that we have entertainment in the afternoon at 2pm with Brian Shaw in our Drake Community.

Help Admirals Reach Care raise money to support Alzheimer's Society

What an afternoon we had on Wednesday, 12th August, with a visit from Carly-Ann in our Nelson Community. Residents from all over the site joined in to enjoy the sing-along and reminisce by guessing the original artists of the songs. Residents also had family members join them to participate in the small concert, engaging with all the residents. What a wonderful afternoon. We apologise for the quality of the photographs; our usual camera was misbehaving, so we had to use our old camera.

Our Snr Wellbeing Coordinator also popped along to have a dance with the wellbeing team; Maxine makes an apology for not chatting to the family, due to the roof being raised by happy singing, felt a little difficult to have a conversation. If you would like to discuss any activity-related thing, please do visit her in Reception; be lovely to catch up.
