You didn't lose your confidence.

You learned, somewhere along the way, that it was safer to hold back.

That's not the same thing. And what's learned can be unlearned.

If you'd like to understand more about where that learning comes from, I wrote about it on the blog this week.

Do you remember a version of yourself who tried things without needing a guarantee first, who spoke up without rehearsing it, who got things wrong and moved on within the hour?

That determination hasn't gone anywhere. It's simply been buried under everything that's happened since, protected by beliefs that once made sense and have quietly overstayed their welcome.

I wrote more about this on the blog, link below if you'd like a read.

I was thinking today about how easily people dismiss small acts of self-care.

Things like:
Taking a proper break.
Spending time on something you enjoy.
Letting yourself slow down without guilt.

They don’t look like much from the outside.

But to the mind, they matter.

Because small moments of kindness towards yourself start to change the way you experience your day.

Not dramatically.
Just quietly.

And often, that’s where real change begins
not in big decisions,
but in small moments where you treat yourself differently.

Confidence isn’t built by thinking positively.
It’s built by showing your unconscious it’s safe to do "the thing.”

Google review Friday.
I have received another review from an ex-smoker, and I am always humbled to know I have helped someone get healthier and save so much money too!

You are a non-smoker after the first session!

Why reassurance rarely works long-term

When someone is anxious, reassurance often sounds logical:
“You’ll be fine.”
“There’s nothing to worry about.”
“Try not to think about it.”

Yet many people notice the anxiety still comes back.

Here’s why.

Reassurance speaks to the thinking mind.
Anxiety is driven by unconscious patterning designed to protect.

So while logic may soothe things temporarily, the deeper pattern hasn’t changed.

Lasting change happens when the unconscious mind no longer feels the need to stay on high alert.

That’s when reactions soften.
That’s when calm becomes more natural — not forced.

Insight doesn’t remove anxiety, and being told 'you're fine' won't stop it from returning, because anxiety isn't logical.

When the unconscious mind feels safe, the need for anxiety reduces naturally.
No forcing. No battling. No overthinking.

Real calm doesn’t come from reassurance.
It comes from safety.

Most people blame themselves when willpower doesn’t work.
But here’s the truth:
Willpower is like a battery — it runs out.
Anxiety, cravings, or old habits aren’t controlled by willpower… they’re driven by the unconscious mind.
That’s why trying to “push through” never lasts.
When the unconscious gets rewired, change feels natural — not forced.
