This morning Occupational Therapist Harriet met with some fantastic women helping to further develop The Carers Course. This training course has been built for people caring for a loved one who is living with dementia. Designed by carers, for the carers!

After a poor recovery following a hospital stay, our latest client at HUUMAN lost not only his mobility and his independence but also a sense of his identity.

This week our Occupational Therapy assistant was greeted with these gorgeous Christmas treats the gentleman made! A glimmer of our client's passion and career in the food industry shone through once again.

🎉Team appreciation post! 🎉

Last September I took on Odette as my Occupational Therapy assistant and she has absolutely flourished in this role!!

Odette is studying Occupational Therapy at the University of Gloucestershire and is about to complete her final year.

Odette's work at HUUMAN has varied but has recently specialised in housing assessments. Whether that is adapting someone's environment to enable their participation in meaningful activity or liaising with other professionals and services to ensure people's living environment is as safe and supportive as possible.

Our clients rave about Odette and love to see her often!

Our Occupational Therapy students Elle and Gayle have rounded up their placement by delivering a presentation on the launch of the NHS Med3 Project which hopes to support people with getting back into work.

Alongside this, they have been seeing a variety of people in their homes that require support with accessibility, safety, mobility and equipment prescription inclusive of managing their own case loads.

Elle and Gayle have done a fantastic job on their placement and delivery of this professional presentation to senior management staff of our local NHS services.

Our one to one home visits are a great motivator to keep you on track of your therapeutic goals, however how can you keep that motivation up once we've left?

Our Occupational Therapy students from have devised a mobility tracker! Every day our client is encouraged to work towards her goal to help build up her confidence with walking.
