LONDON MARATHON 2027 💛💙

I am absolutely thrilled (and a little nervous!) to share that I will be running the London Marathon for WellChild - the national charity for sick children
🏃‍♀️💙

As a mum, I know just how much strength, love and determination parents pour into supporting their children every single day. Having faced challenges with my own children, I’ve experienced first-hand how important the right support can be when life feels overwhelming. That’s one of the reasons I’m so passionate about fundraising for WellChild, a charity that provides vital support to seriously ill children and their families across the UK.

No family should have to face difficult times alone, and I want to help ensure that more families can access the care, guidance and practical support that wonderful organisations like WellChild provide when they need it most.

Over the coming months, I will be organising a range of fundraising activities, and I’d love for you to follow our journey and support us however you can.

Whether it’s making a donation, sharing our fundraising efforts or simply cheering us on, every bit of support will make a real difference. Most importantly, it will help WellChild continue its incredible work supporting families through some of the toughest times imaginable.

Thank you for your support – let’s do this! 💙🏃‍♀️🏅

COTSWOLD 113 ✅

What a day at the Cotswold 113 in South Cerney - a middle distance trialthon (aka half Ironman distance)

Set in the stunning Cotswold Water Park, it’s hard to beat the scenery, atmosphere, and the support out on course. From start to finish, it was a brilliant event and so well organised by .

This year hasn’t been plain sailing. There have been plenty of reasons to doubt myself and moments where it would have been easier to step back. But today wasn’t about chasing a time — it was about showing up, trusting the work, and seeing what I could do.

I’m especially proud to say I came away with a PB for this course and finished 12th in my age category (45–49) — a result I’m genuinely proud of.

The swim was lovely, the bike was solid, and the run was a long lesson in character building! 😅

A huge thank you to everyone who tracked me, cheered me on, messaged, and supported me throughout the journey — it means more than you know.

Special mention to Paul and Neil who both also got PBs today. I’m so proud of them, and so grateful to them for taking me under their wing and introducing me to the world of triathlon in the first place. I wouldn’t be here without that support and belief early on.

And absolutely delivered with the most stunning red glittery finishers’ medal ✨🏅 definitely worth every kilometre!

Bonus highlight of the day… coming home to a homemade brownie from my daughter Caitlin ❤️ the perfect post-race reward!

Time to recover, reset, work out how to make that final 21km feel a little less dreadful, and start thinking about what’s next. Any tips are gratefully received!

🚨 Strength training is making headlines today.

A new study reported in the media today found that just 90–120 minutes of strength training per week was linked to a 13% lower risk of premature death, a 19% lower risk of death from cardiovascular disease, and a 27% lower risk of death from neurological diseases. The biggest benefits were seen when strength training was combined with regular aerobic exercise. (The Times)

And this is exactly why I'm always encouraging women to include strength training in their week.

It's not just about building muscle or changing how you look.

This latest research highlights something we've known for a long time: strength training is one of the most powerful things you can do for your long-term health and wellbeing.

It's about:

✅ Staying strong and independent as you age
✅ Protecting your bones and joints
✅ Improving balance and reducing falls
✅ Supporting your metabolism
✅ Boosting confidence and energy
✅ Making everyday life easier

The best part? You don't need hours in the gym.

Just a couple of strength sessions each week can have a huge impact on your health, fitness and future quality of life. 💪

If you've been thinking about getting started but aren't sure where to begin, send me a message. Whether you want to train at home, in the gym, or need help building confidence with weights, I'd love to help you take that first step.
