Something I wish more people knew…

Your jaw, neck and headaches can sometimes be connected.

The muscles and joints around the jaw and neck work closely together, which means tension, clenching, posture, stress or reduced movement in one area may influence another.

Some people experiencing:
• jaw tension
• neck stiffness
• tension-type headaches
• facial tightness
• posture-related discomfort

may benefit from a musculoskeletal assessment looking at the wider picture.

At Vitality Chiropractic Chester, we assess how the jaw, neck, posture and movement patterns may be contributing to symptoms and whether chiropractic care is appropriate for you. If needed, we’ll always recommend further medical assessment.

If you’re looking for a chiropractor in Chester for neck tension, posture-related discomfort or persistent muscle tension headaches, our team is happy to help guide you.

🚶‍♂️ The 10-Minute Walk That Changes Everything
It’s National Walking Month, the perfect time to reset your routine with something simple, effective, and spine-friendly.
Try this 10-minute walk to support your posture, mobility, and overall wellbeing:
• Minutes 1–2: Start slow. Focus on deep, steady breathing.
• Minutes 3–7: Walk briskly. Keep your head up, shoulders relaxed, and arms swinging naturally.
• Minutes 8–10: Slow down. Let your body unwind and your breathing settle.
💡 Our top tip:
Use this time for mindfulness, notice your surroundings, check in with your posture, and release tension.
🤰 For pregnant & new parents:
A gentle daily walk can ease back tension and boost energy. If you’re pushing a pram or carrying your little one, keep your posture upright, avoid leaning forward, and switch sides regularly when carrying to stay balanced.
Why we love it at the clinic:
Regular walking helps keep your joints moving, supports spinal health, and can reduce everyday aches and stiffness.
Small habit. Big impact. Start with 10 minutes today.

We weren’t designed to sit still
If you spend long hours at a desk, working from home, travelling, or caring for a newborn, staying in one position for too long can leave your body feeling stiff and uncomfortable.
You might have heard about “bad posture” but research increasingly suggests it’s not about one perfect posture. It’s more about staying in any one position for too long that can lead to discomfort.
Here are some simple ways to keep moving throughout your day:
• Set a timer to stand up and stretch every 30–60 minutes
• Roll your shoulders and gently move your neck side to side
• Take short walking breaks even a couple of minutes helps
• Adjust your workspace so your screen is at eye level
• Alternate positions (sitting, standing, walking when possible)
Small, regular movement can help reduce everyday aches, improve comfort, and keep you feeling more mobile.
If you’ve been noticing ongoing stiffness or discomfort, it may be worth getting it checked.

Stress doesn’t just affect your mind, it can also show up in your body.
During Mental Health Awareness Month, it’s a good time to notice common physical signs of tension, such as:
• Tight shoulders and neck discomfort
• Headaches
• Muscle stiffness
• Fatigue or changes in posture
When stress builds up, the body can hold onto tension particularly around the neck, back, and shoulders.
Chiropractic care focuses on the assessment and management of musculoskeletal conditions, helping to improve movement and reduce physical discomfort.
Looking after your body can be an important part of your overall wellbeing.
We see patients across all stages of life from babies and children to adults, including during pregnancy and postnatal care.
If you’ve been feeling tense, stiff, or uncomfortable, it may be worth getting it checked.

Becoming a parent comes with so many unknowns, especially in those early newborn weeks 🤍

“We visited Lili with our newborn daughter… I wasn’t sure what to expect but Lili is very knowledgeable and so gentle with baby. We continued with the movements she showed us and over a couple of weeks the issues with wind lessened significantly and baby’s latch improved to the point I didn’t need the shields anymore.”

This reflects one family’s experience and outcomes can vary.

Every baby is different, and our role is simply to support you and your little one with gentle care, time, and guidance you can continue at home 🌿

If you’re feeling unsure, you’re not alone and you’re always welcome to ask questions before booking.
